I think Douglas was a 42-1 underdog. I don't know yet what the odds will be on this fight, but probably about 15-1 or something like that. So no, it won't be a bigger upset. Douglas beating Tyson was front page news all over the world. If Floyd should happen to lose it probably won't even be the top story on ESPN, depending what else is going on in the sports world

Yes, imo. Tyson/Douglas was shock of epic proportions, but there were rumors of Tyson not putting forth maximum effort in his training so the writing was on the wall for an eventual upset. That's not the case with Floyd.

I think it would be a bigger upset, Mayweather looks unbeatable and never falters or cuts corners in training.

Nah, Floyd's getting on in age anyway and we know he doesn't have a perfect chin.......
he's bound to get nailed before too long if he keeps fighting.

No, but it will be probably the biggest upset maybe since then however.

Tyson was knocking men out early in just about every fight. Tyson was destroying everything in his path on his way to becoming the greatest fighter of all-time. Then some tomato can beat him up and KO'ed. Mayweather is not and has never had the level of domination over all comers in his career.

If he loses now people will say it was coming sooner or later.

Not even close to being an upset of that proportion - this would be slightly greater than when Bradley got a win over PAC in the first fight (not a REAL win I know) - it was a big upset but hardly earth shattering like that Tyson loss.

    floyd is 37 years old
    tyson was 23
douglas was a top 15 heavyweight back then, Maidana is a titlist and probably a top 5 guy

Tyson vs Douglas is the GOAT upset in boxing history

Tyson was not supposed to ever lose & Douglas was not even a cut up opponent...Nobody saw it coming except the hardcore gamblers

This would be similar to Tarver over Jones for me. Not as big as the Tyson upset.

No, for the simple reason that Floyd is no Mike Tyson.
