    You guys serious? :blood

Of course not, not even remotely close!
Douglas beating Tyson isn't just the biggest upset ever in boxing, it's in the top 3 of all time upsets in sports history. A boxing fan that lived trough the prime Tyson era would never ask this question, or maybe only when he's the biggest ***** around.
I don't know the odds, but they should be a clear indication that it shouldn't even be asked. Upset of the year? Very likely. All time biggest upset? GTFOH!

the greatest upset since. i would say 99 percent of posters one here are picking mayweather to win. would be a huge upset no doubt! if mayweather were to lose everyone will come up with excuses etc etc.

Douglas was thought to have no chance of beating Tyson. None at all. That's how good Tyson was. What no one knew is that Tyson wasn't training seriously, and so we were shocked by the KO. If Tyson had trained normally, he would have sparked Douglas in the first round.

Floyd isn't as good as prime Tyson. If Maidana beats him, it will be an upset but nowhere near the shock we felt when Douglas KOed Tyson.

True, but you'll never see odds like 50/1 against again. Not even Wlads stiffs approach that kind of margin.

In reality I reckon this would be at least as big of an upset.

    Exactly!

Mike Tyson was a destroyer that no boxer in the world stood a chance against. He was fighting a journeyman who was there to fill time and because Mike had wiped the division clean, beating 3 defending champions and ruining the rest of the top ten, including nailing Holmes to the canvas!

If Floyd gets beaten its because hes old and slowing.

    He wont get beaten.

Floyds only real challenge left is to move up to middle.

Boy, If anyone bet any substantial wealth on Douglas to win....they may still be eating off of that money. 42-1. Wow!

I believe it was Gary Russel jr who fought a opponent who had 100/1 odds against him. And Mormeck was 40/1 to 50/1 against when he was fighting Wlad by the way, so your statement is flawed.

    Wlads odds where 1:50, Mormeck wasn't 50:1 though I don't think.

I'm not sure though but I'd be really suprised if the odds where that wide. Never seen odds this wide since I've started watching boxing.

Any source I can find says Mormeck was 25:1, which is still very wide. He was the stiff of all the stiffs, Douglas was much better than him.

No. Nobody knew who Douglas was and he never did anything worth a **** before he fought Tyson. Maidana is not a big name but at least has won titles before

If he does win it will be hailed as the biggest upset in recent memory by the hyperbolic press. The mainstream media only seems to think there are two boxers worth writing about: Mayweather and Pacquiao and Mayweather is perceived as invincible. Maidana is a nobody in the consciousness of the general public, completely unheard of, and thats how the papers will write it.
