Maidana never should have left Diaz IMO. Part of the reason he's looked worse lately I think is because his subsequent trainers have tried to make him a boxer-puncher which doesn't really suit him at all.

This would have been an interesting fight. I feel like if the Guerrero who fought Aydin shows up, he might be in trouble here.

kotelnik fight was close, even fight. Khan fought like **** vs garcia, against maidana he used his straight punches more and jabbed more, against garcia he kept throwing wild hooks - he fought garcia the way he fought McCloskey

I am interested in seeing what Garcia does for him. But I agree that the trainer changes have not helped

I felt watching the fight that Kotelnik always looked like he was bossing the fight , and Maidana was probably somewhere near his best then too , the decision on the cards may have been close but i had Kotelnik by 4 or 5 in a close but clear decision

Your comparison is baseless , Khan went and put on a clinic against Judah the very next fight after McCloskey , very rarely do you get the chance at the top level to " fight your fight " , he was KO'd by a technically sound " same time / counter puncher " in Danny Garcia , Garcia is better schooled than Maidana and is all round a more complete fighter

Erick Morales had Maidana in fits , and his legs were not working , Maidana is a very crude and once raw and dangerous slugger , them days are over now
