My post is in response to the OP's opening sentence

 

Yes!, that's right... jesus christ, how has nobody realised in 100 years that the reason fighters get KNOCKED OUT is because they are actually falling over due to being top heavy. Nothing to do with the fact they actually have no control over their lower body and are effectively unconscious

Okay, I thought you were referencing me as I referred to that point specifically.

It's an interesting subject, and as far as I'm aware there is no set theory as to what attributes to a strong or weak chin.

I think Khan's chin will be slightly better at this weight, I assume you don't think so? Either way, his chin was so bad to begin with that we'll probably never know if it's got better or worse

 

Khan has a Mayweather fight lined up for him (you heard it here first). So he better not lose.

 

If Maidana lands he'll knock Khan out, without question.

To me the outcome depends on how Khan comes out in the first round. Does he charge out like a ****** as he did against Prescott, or does he apply controlled aggression?

With his shaky chin it's obviously a gamble, but I'd definitely be inclined to back Maidana up at the earliest opportunity..... because he can't fight going backwards to save his life.

I'd imagine Maidana will look to load up with the right hand immediately (within the first ten seconds) - so just be ready.

 

That's right there is none at all, nobody knows why/what happens entirely, it all takes place in the brain, the structures of jaw and upper neck. Nobody has ever been able to create a process by which they can help a fighter who has a bad chin, simply because you cannot (Unless they wanted to sign up for experimental surgery) change the structures in the skull

When people say X fighter got knocked down at a particular weight and then he moved up he took better punches, it's impossible to know/gauge the power behind the punch and the position of the skull at the time and all the other countless factors to actually even determine whether he was actually hit with greater effective force.

What I do know is that Khan from amateur to professional has taken shots, (the famous one being the Prescott jab, from a perfectly distributed stance) and got wobbled at times he shouldn't have. The actual Prescott knockout I don't particularly think anything of as many a fighter would of gone down to that.

I am pretty certain that if Maidana lays one on him he's going down. However, he's shown before he can get up, so maybe it won't necessarily mean disaster

For me, the funniest outcome would be Maidana KO'in Khan.. simply because ESB would be flooded with usual morons screaming "HAHAHAAHA SEE HIS CHIN IS ****, GLASS JAW FRAUD HAHAHAHA, HAHA", and various other demented posts, when in fact, despite his chin not being very good, he'll probably have lost to a punch that would of KO'd almost anyone.

 

Froch has a **** promoter thats why he has less fans than Khan!

Anyone who thinks Khan's ability to take a punch hasn't improved since he's moved up in weight is an idiot. It's pretty obvious that if you're drained from over training to make weight, you're legs are gonna be pretty weak. I'm not saying Khan has an iron jaw and will stand and trade with Maidana, anyone could get knocked out by anyone if they're caught in the right (or wrong) way, but it's not gonna just be a case of as soon as Maidana lands a punch Khan crumbles to the canvas.

Marcos Maidana is a tough little guy though and he can definitely keep coming at Khan. I don't see many problems for Amir though and I think he'll ride out a really comfortable decision.

Maidana is going to KO Khan without a doupt i just watched khans last 3 fights over hes got no chance against Maidana ive put money on it

 

It's true.. Khan is the next man they have in line, assuming he didn't fight Pac / Lost to paq, or even won.

It's not seen as a lamb to the slaughter by them either, they believe in 2-3 fights time Khan will be ready for him
