Why didn't he put that version of Takam away? Makhmudov's slow and uncoordinated, suspect engine, suspect chin, leaky defence. Kabayel's done very little for 6+ years rotting on the vine so Mahkhmudov needs to put him away in good fashion to look like he's up to something.

Suspect chin? Where did that one come from. Aggressive and determined id call him. Like Fury can be when he is decked. Kabayel kidwalked chisora like fury did. Most struggle with delboyd style unless they KO him.

Makhmudov is turning 35 in six months and has nothing to show for except wins over shot beyond belief veterans.

    I'm not buying the hype.

So he beats the unbeaten veteran and Fury or Uysk either retire and we see him fight fir a title with Hrgovic and Zhang and the rest of the queue waiting behind them.

Personally, I love the sound of ANY of those options. All sound like wars.

Kabayel has spent a career feasting on journeymen and has 1 solid name on his resume, isnt in the top 10 with any sanctioning body, he should be fighting Sanchez or Hrgovic on the card.

And I don't think Takam was clean for that fight, either. A 30 year-old Takam would be reduced to trying to pinch rounds by throwing the occasional flurry after 5 or 6 rounds. And suddenly the 40 year-old edition can put it in 10 solid ones? Sorry, not buying that.

Makh being made to wait his turn by Top Rank. It is what it is.

He's possibly next in line, but at least two of Fury, Wilder, Usyk, and AJ need to get cashed before he gets his turn.

Obviously, if he loses to Kabayel - he may never come back from that - but I don't think he will. For all the complaining about Makhnudov's thin CV, Kabayel hasn't done much of anything, himself, since he fought Rudenko in early 2019.

Hes fighting a man and ready to jump in the top 15 with a solid KO.

Performances matter if Makh looks limited hes not going anywhere.
