If Manny can beat Cotto at any weight...why does he ALWAYS demand a catchweight?

So why does he DEMAND a catchweight OR NO FIGHT?

See Philla...there you go...This guy just showed me that it's you not me, who doesn't know what the **** there talking about.

So again, if Manny can beat Cotto at 154, and Cotto is the bigger payday over Marquez, and he can do it all the same no matter the case, then why doesn't he do it?

What you said makes 0 sense bro. You really need to understand what your saying straight up.

I don't see it as gaining an advantage, but leveling the playing field between 2 weight classes. Pacquiao is a small welterweight. Most lightweights rehydrate to to 145+ and some light welterweights rehydrate to 155 (Lamont Peterson).

Let me ask you all something...

Why doesn't Marquez catch any flack? Especially since he came in BIGGER and HEAVIER than Pacquiao. No one ever mentions JMM's catchweight demands. Why?

    Selective hate.

Last time he fought a super welter, Cotto requested 150, with a 160 rehydration limit lmao. Why is this, does Cotto enjoy draining himself?

Marquez wanted it at 140 and Manny at 147. They settled at a medium of 144. I have 0 takeaway here. I do think Marquez is a tad quicker at 40, but I have nothing to take away. Marquez beat Manny at 144 though I know that.:think

Okay, so obviously Manny would love a Cotto fight at 147, but Cotto wants it at 154. Is 150 not a good compromise and fair middle ground?

They were at 52 and there was nothing of any rehydration clause even mentioned.

What are some bouts that hou factually know have rehydration clauses? List with source...?

Cotto appears to feel that the weight is his this time since Manny got it last time...all fair in my opinion. I think they should do it at 154. Manny fought a 166 Margarito, so a 165 Cotto is ok. Do it at 154 and give Cotto less money, or choose glove and ring size etc etc...

Pacquiao got seriously hurt in the Margarito fight and immediately said afterwards that he would never fight at over 150 again. Answering Max Kellerman, Pacquiao said that he was seriously hurt to the body and head. So it's not like he's pretending that 154 is a comfortable weight class.

You will never get a straight answer. Somehow, Manny is only too small when he fights Cotto.

It's like magic. He's ok for ODLH, Mosley, Clottey, Bradley and Margo, but too little for Cotto.

147 for ODLH happened before the Cotto fight, all the others were after the Cotto fight. Only Cotto had to come down to 145.

So then he can't take a punch from a 154 Cotto and needs Cotto to deplete his body, more so than he would have to deplete it if they fought at 154. So then he has doubts about a "undepleted Cotto" but not a "depleted Cotto."

I understand "he" is not comfortable but that doesn't change that Cotto might be to much for lil Pacquiao at 154 and Pacquiao and his team know it and don't want the larger payday over Marquez 4.
