If Manny can beat Cotto at any weight...why does he ALWAYS demand a catchweight?

:thumbsup The Cotto Pac fight I witnessed was a ****ing fight, you had Pacquiao laying on the ropes letting Cotto get off shots looking to counter, **** that you normally would see Miguel Cotto do....
and you had Cotto coming forward making it a fight, looking to trap Manny and get off his shots...
That was a great fight, I feel to this very day that Miguel Cotto put more Physical hurt on Manny Pacquiao than anybody has since moving up to 47

You cant say that 45 killed him, you cant take the shots Miguel took in that fight like that for that long while giving out as good as you get if your drained.... The knock downs where Flash knock downs Uppercuts and hooks with Zip on them, Cotto is a sucker for that shot and the right hook...

in the end it came down to who had more in the tank, and it proved to be Manny Pacquiao

 

Cotto said it himself post fight, he just didn't see the punches coming. He was out of the fight by round 5,

You know, for a drained guy he did a hell of a job running from the midget for 18 minutes straight. Mostly backwards and laterally, much harder, try doing that drained. Maybe if he wasn't drained he'd see the finish line?

 

it was an exciting fight, imo mostly due to the nature of the fighters. I've never seen a boring Cotto fight and Manny likes a tussle.

at the end of the day tho it was very one-sided.

Cotto won round 1, lost round 2, got decked in rounds 3 and 4, tried to mount a comeback in round 5 and then got beat down like he didn't belong from round 6 on.

After 11 rounds he was already down 9 or 10 points and then the ref waved him off

 

he couldn't see the punches because he was drained. look at timmeh dodging punches left and right and whooped that mofo up. a healthy cotto destroys pac, that's the magnitude we are looking into here.

 

fair to say that at 147 Cotto probably would've seen the finish line.

 

Why do you suppose Cotto chose to drain himself to 150 to get an edge on a one eyed bum? He likes not seeing punches coming?

Because it was Pac's 7th weightclass, nobody knew if he could take a punch above 130, he barely took any. Here's Cotto requesting cws in his 3rd, where he's the freaking champ. And Pac asked for it against an elite welter, Cotto vs a one eyed bum
