If Manny does not need Floyd, does he still need JMM?

This is a silly question because of the monumental mismatch Floyd churned against a lightweight Marquez. People say Pac needs to fight JMM because what they had were two close fights. Others say, Pac if he gets past Cotto should fight his last fight against Floyd. Others say, if the negotiations fail, it is alright if Pac does not fight Floyd anymore because his legacy is assured at 7 titles in 7 divisions.

If Pac beats JMM, people will always raise the excuse that JMM was Floyd's leftover or Floyd destroyed Marquez? So, what good is it to fight Marquez? Nothing, nada, nil, zilch.

    What do you think?

I can see the Marquez fight happening no matter what happens in the Cotto fight.

Pacquiao doesn't need anybody anymore. He's the one with the victory over Marquez, and he's the one who's already proven himself against the very best of his era, which is something Mayweather should think about doing very soon. Marquez should make history and set himself apart from Morales and Barrera by becoming the first 4 weight world champion in Mexico's history. Mayweather should fight the best Welterweight in the world, that's Shane Mosley, and Pacquiao should take the most money until he retires. He has proven himself already.

Pacquiao will definately take a fight with Marquez. Marquez is a worn fighter. I also think Pacquiao will take a fight with Berto. But if Pac takes on Shane, I would give him all the respect in the world.
Berto gets tired, and doesn't have the skills like Shane has.
Shane is a dangerous fight for Pac, cause Shane can hurt a light heavyweight like Margarito.

If anything, Marquez showed he has a lot left in the tank by seeing the distance against the bigger and more athletic Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I feel both fights would end badly for the Filipino star, but he may go out and prove us all wrong again. Berto and Mosley possess comparable hand speed, and are much bigger fighters. They'd both be huge obstacles too overcome, I feel.

Perhaps, but he does have "special" hand speed, and perhaps wouldn't need to go into the later rounds if he was to make enough contact early on. Manny has never been hit by a legitimate Welterweight, with both speed and power in abundance.

Shane is a dangerous fight for Pac, cause Shane can hurt a light heavyweight like Margarito.

Margarito was a Welterweight who fought at Light Middleweight on occasion. Don't over-exaggerate.

    Manny certainly does'nt need JMM.......

.......believe me, losing for the third time in three tries is'nt going to look good on his otherwise great resume!:deal:D

The reality is that unless Pac loses by a whitewash to Cotto.....Pac is'nt going to risk losing again to Marquez.

.....and even if Pac loses to Cotto, pitting two fighters coming off of losses, just does'nt ring big at the box office (and I'm talking mainstream PPV)
.....these guys are not going to fight eachother if the money is not there.

......so it seems that if a third fight were to take place, both fighters would have to take a fight or two to rebuild and establish they're still worthy of P4P material, so that a third fight then sells on PPV.

......unfortunately for JMM, he'd be close to 38 years old by then if not already there.

A third fight is not happening guys.......as a Marquez fan, would I would like to happen for JMM is a fight with Hatton.....and if succesful and Shane Mosley is still Welterweight champ......one more move up and see if he can get Shane at a catchweight.

I'm telling you guys, Shane Mosley can be taken by any elite type fighter that does'nt take the fight to him.

.....unlike Mayweather, Shane would take the fight to Marquez which would give Marquez the opportunity to box in counter mode.

I want to see JMM leave the sport with paydays.....and Hatton and Mosley imo would bring that for him!

Manny no longer needs JMM however, If the fight does happen I'd hope it doesn't happen at 144-147. I have a feeling Pac would show to the full extent that JMM doesn't belong at that weight.

If it wasn't JMM nuthugger Divac who said these, I will take him seriously.:lol::lol:

This could be the reason Divac does not want JMM to fight Pac.

You're delusional. JMM should go back to lightweight.:hi:

Really? Did you also say that Marquez will beat Floyd?:lol::hi:

If ever your dream come, do you think JMM will earn more money in fighting Mosley than fighting Pac, a certified crowd drawer.:lol::lol::hi:

PAC doesn't need JMM anymore specially that he only has 1 or 2 fights more to go before calling it quits... PAC already gave JMM 2 chances... IMO, there are other more notable boxers than JMM that deserves to have PAC's last fights...

just admit it, marquez in higher weights will be killed against pac.
marquez is just lucky at 130, pac hardly make weight. too close to dehydration. by the way i dont see him winning against hatton :-(
hope he gets back at 135.
