There's nothing weird about it. As Shaunster explained earlier, but here's another point. If it's about 'Unification', then explain the following: Challenger Beats Wladimir. Challenger Beats Vitali. Unification complete. But wait!! He now needs to fight WLADIMIR again! The same Wladimir he already beat, who's brother he already beat, and who now holds no titles. That goes a step beyond Unification if you ask me. There's an extra fight that has nothing to do with Unification. So what's the argument now? After Unification Wladimir would be the most 'worthy' opponent? Oh, and I forgot to mention - All this for the same money he was offered as an unknown Challenger. Fight one as an unknown bum. Total Fight Purse: £100 - 500K. Fight two as Lineal Champion, WBA, IBF, IBO, WBO and The Ring Champion. Total Fight Purse: £100 - 500K. Fight three as Lineal Champion and UNDISPUTED CHAMPION and probably a superstar buy now. Total Fight Purse: £100 - 500K. So that's pretty much a maximum of £1.5 Million. And that's being generous with the purses fighters make fighting a Klitschko. So if by some magical chance, Charr beats Wladimir, then beats Vitali, he would become a superstar overnight. At this point in time, he then has to fight Wladimir AGAIN, with Wlad probably having done nothing to 'deserve' it, for about £500k. Even though the new Champion (being undisputed) brings ten times that amount to the table. In essence, even if the **** poor purse is worth it for a quick payday and getting knocked out, if you're serious about your career, and you genuinely have the hunger to be World Champion, it probably isn't worth it. And no Promoter/Manager would throw his fighter in with those kinds of conditions. That pretty much explains it.
this is why im not a fan of the k bros. its no different from what don king did in the 70's and 80's only this time its worse, because the k bros are fighters who are ripping off other fighters, trying as hard as they can to keep the belts in the family. if vitali and wlad lose, there is probly a clause in the contract to make them fight there sister. lmao.
If a guy beats Wlad and Vitali, there is a little known clause that he has to go through all the Klitschkos in the Kiev Phone book
Then don't sign the contract. Very simple really. Why don't these boxers moaning about these so called disgraceful contracts actually take part in the many mandatory competitions then that are constantly taking place and earn a 30% cut of the contract? Or are they too afraid of getting exposed by the likes of Travis Walker, Maurice Harris, Ustinov, Derric Rossy and the like? Maybe.
Sounds to me like your boys need to get a top promoter like Warran or Booth in then as your boys haven't got a clue about contract negotiations. :deal
WOW, You cannot be serious about the "fight my brother clause" . . . that is unheard of! I can see why fans complain about such a ridiculous clause to be written in. However, this is business and if they want a shot at the title that maybe what they have to sign. I have always said that it is the contract between fighters that is the most important, sanctioning bodies, trinkets, and everything else is secondary.
Depends on how he won. If he stopped VK, not on an injury, but seriously KO'd him? VK would retire. Ditto if VK was shut out due to just not bein able to get off much due to age. If he won a competitive decision, probably a rematch.
Um, that is not what the Klitschko's do and it is illegal anyway. You don't want Charr to fight Wlad if he wins because you don't want to see either Klithcko with all the belts it is as simple as that. If this were anyone else specifacally David Haye you would be all for it. The point is to have one champion. Charr if he were to win would give us that against Wlad. Let me ask you this? Why would Charr not fight Wlad if he won? It would be a huge payday much more than he would make against anyone else. Your logic is awful here because you dislike the Klitschkos.
:rofl atsch Um, that is what they do. Fight me and win? Fight my brother. Beat him? Fight me again. I don't give a **** about who has which belts. It doesn't matter who who has Vitali's belt, Wlad is still the heavyweight champion and will remain that until he loses or retires. Neither will happen for a considerable amount of time. The amusing thing is that, as much as you want it to be true, I don't dislike Wlad. But keep telling me it's true - or start another thread about glass jaws. It'd be nice for the belts to be completely unified, but if Charr would beat Vitali (which he won't as he's the latest in a long line of **** poor fights from the elder Klitschk) it's his perogative to decide if he wants to do that or not. We've been used to two HW title holders refusing to unify for the last few years, I wouldn't lose sleep if that were to continue - and I wouldn't begrudge a fighter like Charrrrr a few easy defences of his belt to make a nice bit of cash for himself and his family before ultimately surrendering the title to Wlad.
Its actually the "fight my brother & then fight me again if you win & get paid peanuts to do so" My personal favourite K2 clause is the bro's reserve the right to substitute for each other, so a challenger cant even be certain who hes gonna fight.
if the other brother wasnt a champion then yes i would agree with you..but im sorry i just do not see what the problem is with forcing a unification fight when one loses..after all its what we all want.one champion to hold all the belts...
