I know the allegations against Marciano and the mob, you are saying that Marciano was total fiction because of all of those allegations and I am saying he was still a pretty great heavyweight regardless even with those allegations,,

Unless your implying that the Mob controlled the Rock and all his opponents and all his fights were clever acting on both Rock and his opponents ??????

Is that what you are saying Foxy???

so you think Ali, Liston, Frazier, Louis, Johnson, Holmes, Lewis, Foreman and Tyson should be ranked higher than Marciano?

I don't think that is unreasonable

Rocky beats Frazier. His right beats Fraziers left.

Very true. Easier to neutralize an opponent who has one dominant arm. Plus I envision Rocky getting under Joes hook and beating him to the punch with his right hand. Love Frazier but he gets outgunned here.

Funny thing I don't see anyone saying Rocky was the best. Just that he was an ATG. I don't know if any trainer, writer or historian that would say Rovky was not an ATG. I rate him typically in my lower top 10. However he would give any boxer like Ali, Holmes, Tunney hell. Styles make fights and Marciano had the style, power and unlimited endurance to make things difficult for these fighters.

    Argh!!!

Fine, Joe Louis' three best/closest defenses came against Tommy Farr (24 losses), Billy Conn (9 losses), and Walcott (12 losses).

That equals 45 losses at the time he fought them.

So please explain why arguably the best heavyweight of the 20th century Joe Louis was a fraud simply because he struggled against guys with so many losses?

    You're a joke.

I love how these guys are crying about racial injustice but in the same breath dog black murder row fighters for having so many loses. Ignorant and hypocritical beyond words.

Frazier was faster and bigger but the advantage of two heavy hands more than makes up for Marciano's lack of speed imo. I also think Marciano was the heavier hitter.
A knockdown drag out war sees Marciano cut around the eyes and Frazier lumped up facially. Both men may hit the deck here.
