Is Vlad Klitschko good only because he is white, tell that to the 18 defenses he made ....but a lot of people think its a hoax because he is white....

Very unlikely as I'm particular whom I drink with.

I have no colour prejudice what so ever. You have to think about the times that Marciano came up in and the two decades that followed.

I believe Marciano gets a bit more kudos than he deserves based on his skin colour and of course that magical 49-0 .
If you want to throw insults, try some one else they don't impress me,and I think over reaction to the question is highly suspect.:think

If Rocky was black he would be considered the same as Tyson is today, and have had a better reign.

He would be considered the greatest PFP fighter ever. Rocky is denigrated for his color, not the other way around.

I'm not suggesting Marciano is not a great fighter,Im suggesting he may be perceived as greater than he was by some fans.

A hell of a lot of people aren't impressed with Wlad simply because of his safety first style.

I know he bores the sh*t out of me ,but Lewis sometimes did that too.

It might not have made much difference.

People idolized black fighters of the era such as Louis, and Robinson.

His exciting style and willingness to fight all comers would still have made him a big draw, and his personality would have made him palatable to white America.

When you round it off with his 49-0 record, he effectively combines the personality of Floyd Patterson, and the results of Sonny Liston.

Odd, Clazghe has a similar problem, and he has 20 title defenses.

McVey for example does not think Calzaghe was great even though he's the best in the history of the 168 pound division, defeated two hall of fame fighters, and retired undefeated.

You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure this one out.

Blacks idolized Louis and liked Robinson a bit less, he was always rather haughty .It took the war years for White America to come around to Louis.

    My answer, yes.

Ali, Louis, Frazier, Tyson, even Holmes now are either loved or at least respected.

So perhaps the time was right for a dynamite punching, all action, black champion, who had a similar media persona to Louis?

Yeah, he'd have street and towns named after him, he'd be worshipped by the assholes at ESPN, this incompetent ******* president we have now and his worst lady would be pushing for a national holiday for him...he would be on the 20 dollar bill if he was black.

He would have been Cosell's idol.
Cosell would have recited Dylan lyrics to Marciano's highlight clips.
