Not a problem. The chances are that I didn't explain myself correctly, as opposed to you misunderstanding it.:good

The thread is in itself indirectly political. If folks choose to adopt a " politically correct "approach to it, that's their problem. No one else's. Freedom of speech is far more important than the sensitivity of some precious little thing that might be upset by it.

I would "guess" that he would be less well thought of overall to some degree if he were black, however, I think a lot of so called boxing experts would still rank him as highly as he is ranked simply because of the zero losses. Not saying that is deserved but that's just the way it is with zero losses, it creates a factor whereby nobody can make a concrete claim that he was beatable simply because he didn't get beat.

So yes if he is black he maybe considered LESSOR of a ATG then he is because he is white. However, I don't think it would be night and day excuse the pun :nut

Regardless of his skin colour he would always be a tough call for the so called experts to pick exactly because of the question marks from his career, he never lost but his biggest wins were against guys that were past their primes, it creates such a contrast of knowing exactly how great Rocky was.

If Marciano was black, he'd probably have the smoothest hairdo of anyone of his era, tough and tight.

I firmly believe had Marciano been black, his world title fights resume in particular would have been dissected far more than it has, and would have come under far more criticism long before today.

Not at all. I would root for a black Briton ( I'm white ) against a white American, Russian, Pole, Spaniard, Italian, Mexican, or the white, asian, hispanic or whatever guy from anywhere in the world, and I AM SURE the reverse would be true.

Oh I see, you know so much more than I do...So my lord and master I yield to your omnipotent divinity...You truly know squat about those dark days when I soon later along with my buddies entered the service...You fool, you do a disservice to all the Brits
who soon were battling the menace that was Hitler...Do you think sir, after Hitler signing a Peace Pact with Mr Chamberlain,
treacherously gobbled up the Czechs, The Sudetenland, Poland, and Belgium ,Great Britain was not on his list? ... Britain just beat the tyrant Hitler to the punch declaring War on Hitler..
And thank GOD they did as you in your misguided wisdom most likely have been around today posting your utter rubbish...

Well, that shows it depends on what people view as their "own kind".
If someone views there "own kind" along 'racial' lines and roots for them on that basis, they are to some degree "racist".
    By definition.

If it's country of birth or 'nationality', then they are to some degree "nationalistic".

I'd dispute that either position is "natural" for anyone. It's something we learn from others around us, something constructed.
It's slightly irrational, in my personal opinion. But in the example you mention, probably mostly harmless.

I think he would be taller, have a more appealing voice, and would not have a funny Italian name.

Talk about off topic! At any rate i think we can all admit that America is far from the perfect utopia that some may think it is. But as for myself, I still think it's the best country in the world in which to live and raise a family in. Every successful nation has had it's share of events it would rather not have to admit took place but that's par for the course....we're all human after all and prone to doing stupid, bad, rash and insensitive things just as much as we do kind, noble and courageous ones. But I will add that America has done quite a bit to atone for the sins of it's past transgressions....to the tune of 11 TRILLION Dollars in social programming since the Great Society initiatives were passed to try to help rectify those transgressions. What other country can say it's done as much? Love it or leave it!
