In that time, you have Liston, Frazier, Quarry, Bonovena, Foster, Leotis Martin, Mac Foster, Ernie Terrell, Jimmy Ellis, Chuvalo, etc..

They would be very tough 50-50 fights for Marciano who would only be as good as he was for maybe 8 fights at elite level. So much has to do with at what end of those 8 fights marciano meets a great fighter. Patterson made Liston look fantastic then it was down hill for Sonny. The thing with the 1970's heavyweights is Ali made Norton look good and frazier made Foreman look good. Both were 1960s guys. Career timing plays a bigger part than styles making fights IMO.
If he did that and it's a big if he'd be number 1 for heavy and in the top 3 p4p, perhaps even number 1.
You obviously hold Marciano in high esteem while showing little regard for Dempsey. Marciano is the most overrated fighters in history. On film he looks like an amature. He couldnt have held up as Dempseys sparring partner.
I imagine that you are talking about the 1961 thru 1967 era. For one, Zora Folley's style would have presented a problem for Rocky. The proper size, at 6' 1" and 205 lbs., and a 77" reach. A straight puncher, with a good left jab, and a hard right hand. Just quick enough to get his punches in accurately. And, the numbers don't lie. Between the ages of 25 to 31 'Prime Zora'. February 1956 thru November 1962 (6 1/2 years), Zora goes 41-3-1 (20 KO's). Only losses, to Henry Cooper (L Dec 10), Sonny Liston (L KO 3) and Alejandro Lavorante (L KO 7). The loss to Henry Cooper was a 'robbery', the loss to Sonny Liston 'no shame in that', and the loss to Alejandro Lavorante 'a freak upset loss'.
