he did not dominate for most of the fight.

he won a close decision by one round on my card.

Way to re-write history. Also, forgot that Williams was on his way out towards the end.

If Margo wins there will be an immediate rematch.

It was looking that way.....but fact is it took Margo to long to adjust and realize his inside advantages. Margo's inability to avoid the attack coming in allowed Paul to get to far ahead on the scorecards, he was basically being dominated by sheer activity, his perseverance is his prime quality and biggest flaw.

It's been said countless times. He just fought Williams in the wrong way. Nobody had really tested Williams' chin up to that point so it was still a questionmark. But by the time Margarito had figured that out it was too late. Williams was just up too far on points.

You can see the difference in the two Margaritos. One is a fast no nonsense brawler who mixes up punches because he takes his opponent seriously. Then you have the guy who showed up to fight Williams who completely dismissed his opponent as nothing more than a knockout waiting to happen. Margarito was just flat footed, threw one punch at a time and just stalked Williams all night, letting Williams land his pittypat punches.

They need a rematch. Plain and simple. If Williams does beat Quintana and Margarito beats Cotto then it sets up a perfect unification fight. I personally believe that if Margarito shows up to just outclass Williams he will. He just cannot go looking for the knockout because Williams has a very good chin.

Highly unlikely scenerio in my opinion but it would be a nice bout for Margo.

Come on. Talk about rewriting history. Williams clearly beat Margarito. Whether he faded in the late rounds is irrelevant. He won the majority of rounds. And after the fight virtually no one on this board tried to argue otherwise. It's only after Quintana that people are reevaluating the Margarito fight. Williams beat Margarito plain and simple. Watch it again.

Uhhhhh, yes! He did beat Margarito. Good observation!

no one is saying he didn't, but it wasn't a domination, clear it was, domination it wasn't.:-(

The whole point was/is that if Williams is overrated, how did he 'beat' Margarito- even if he didn't dominate him, which I think he ****ing well did for at least 8 rounds, but Whatever. What does that say about Margarito? Wouldn't he be overrated as well?

If Corrie Sanders was just a journeyman then how did he beat Waldo Klitschko? Does that make Waldo a journeyman too?

Do you see how ridiculous that looks now?

That Margo is an elite fighter and Cotto was slightly overrated.

At that time, Klitschko might as well have been a janitor. But Williams-Margarito was last year. You pick Margarito in a rematch with Williams?
