If Margarito beats Mosley, does he take over the vacancy as "THE" welterweight champ?

Yes it could be a stay busy fight, he vacated one belt, he can do it again if a better offer is made whether at 147/154 or 160.

As far as cleaning up 147 you can't ****ing deny all of a sudden that he wanted to start it out by beating the man people are calling the "best" in the division then clean it up from there. When the best, who he already beat, doesn't want a rematch to avenge a loss despite the huge offer then what can he do?, who is available to fight right now on the date they have set?

Mosley/Margarito are booked, Cotto is booked(even if he wasn't there's no way in hell Arum will send another fighter there), Berto/Collazo are booked. Who else?, Clottey?, Clottey's team only made a response back when Williams already signed to fight Forrest, there's no one there right now and he's better off fighting a champion even if it was in another division than no one.

Exactly. Nobody (except his hardcore fans, I suppose) will acknowledge Margarito as THE man @ 147, until he beats Williams, if Paul stays @ 147, that is.

Then of course, there's also Joshua Clottey...:think

Money, why are you even wasting time with these "objective" fools. They know what happened. They know Paul UD that motha****a and will fight him any day of the week. :deal

And they know Margarito (for whatever reason) turned down a payday that was

Clottey kinda called him out so after Phillips(which you probably meant) he should fight him.And it would be a good fight.

Funny how Margarito's CLEAR ducking of Williams when he has NO better offer than what the man that beat him offered him is just "bull****" and "out of his ass". But Mayweather picking #1 Baldomir for the same amount of money instead of Margarito(who hasn't accomplished JACK**** back then) is pure ducking. You hate the man you will root against him regardless of the actual situation, huh? :huh

Check this out and compare it with Mayweather's situation.

Hopefully, even though it's damn clear Margarito wants no part of Williams at 147 then I won't be surprised to see Williams completely ignoring that division.

it was a close fight, but you score a fight over twelve rounds not the last 6, and hatton had the knock down.

If he wanted no part of him he would have dropped his belt back in 07 just to avoid him.

Exactly, i agree with you on this Pimp C. As much as i like Margarito, i and alot of other fans feel he has unfinnished business with PW. Hopefully they can settle the score soon, it needs to happen ..
