how detrimental do you think it will be to boxing? and how widely do you think it will be worldwide? personally, i think this will be BIG news and possibly the biggest story for 25 years in boxing. However, I'm not saying he is guilty yet but this story just has me constantly speculating.......

it will be relegated to the bottom of the ESPN ticker just like regular boxing has been today.

People don't hate Baseball because of the recent Steroid scandals, and this won't have any real impact on Boxing either.

thats interestin cos i live in the uk so dont really follow baseball, but i imagine if something like that happened in football it would be on the scale of the steroid issue, how big is this scandal in the US?

agreed plus margarito isnt really a crossover star. If Floyd or Pac got caught with this it'd be something else. Everyone who would care already knows.

for once boxing's diminished stature actually helps it.

Why would they put something foreign to the boxing rules in their gloves - I mean how incredibly stupid!! This is inexcusable, especially as he is a elite fighter with the worlds eye on him - why would anyone do something that is so dangerous to their career - and more so on that stage of everyone looking directly at your direction.

Boxing isn't diminished, it's still the 3rd worldwide and 3rd in the U.S. Just because ESPN doesn't talk about doesn't mean it isn't popular.

I dont think it will hurt boxing per say, but margo and his team can shelf there careers. Sprots always bounce back from things like this. This is an individual that did something bad, not the sport itself

it would hurt boxing in a big way, but it would end his carreer. He would have to retire, actually he would be banned. I think if he is found not guilty, it should be put past him, and hire a second trainer, Javier Capitillo is a great conditioning coach, but not a great trainer per say. Antonio needs to learn how to box and defend himself better head movement. He will never be a slick boxer, but his defense can improve. He just needs a better trainer

3rd in the US by what measure? I'd like to see this argument. I can't think of a way boxing could possibly be more than the 7th most popular sport in the US (behind, at least, football, baseball, basketball, NASCAR, golf and tennis) and it's probably closer to 10th or so.

I think that may have been a great thing for boxing...I truely believe that Margo is going to get a boxing death sentence come the 10th...But A-rod just took the light off boxing...:good

    Thank You A-fraud....Damn I love the Sinkees:lol:
