Just looking at people in the attendance, ticket sales, what people around different sports sites say, etc. I would say 1 and 2 Football and Baseball without a doubt. Then Boxing. Basketball is a dull sport, nobody goes to any games (besides a few teams' fans) the regular season is so long and meaningless. NASCAR is falling down, they hit there peak about 6 years ago and it's in a major decline. And really only the south cares about NASCAR. Golf, nobody cares about Golf unless Tiger is in it. And then you have Tennis...really Tennis.

Worldwide boxing stories are rare in the mainstream media.

You'd have to go back to events like Lewis knocking Tyson out, or possibly even Tyson biting Holyfield.

I doubt the Margarito story would even hit the newspapers in the UK.

You're completely out of your mind if you think boxing is more popular than basketball in the States. MMA is probably more popular than boxing in the U.S these days.

How many would pay 50 bucks to watch a basketball game? Not much since there are like 5,000 people a game in a 20,000 arena, while a Boxing match gets 500,000 buys+. Just because ESPN likes Basketball doesn't mean it's more popular than Boxing. Same with that overrated MMA. MMA doesn't have as many fans and never willbe popular than Boxing. Just because MMA has the city of San Fran. doesn't mean it's more popular. If Boxing really was dead was are people stil selling out arenas in fights like on Friday and Wednesday Night Fights? MMA is overrated Boxing is king baby!

I'm sorry, but you have no clue what you're talking about. The average attendance at NBA games is like 15,000 not 5,000. Also, the ratings the NBA gets on TNT is much higher than ESPN FNF ratings. ESPN had to cancel WNF. And I can't believe you mentioned PPV buys. The money the NBA makes off of advertising dollars kills PPV revenue. Man for man, boxers ha e nowhere near the worldwide recognition that NBA stars have. You're way off here man.

If Margo gets found guilty and is banned for live with his trainer then this would probly be good publicity for Boxing.
