If Margarito is proven guilty then will his career be a NO CONTEST?

Lets make something clear. Mosley admitted using steroids. Tito was obligated to re-wrap his hands because it was "CONTROVERSIAL". But Margarito was caught with a substance that is pretty much what they use to make casts. HE COULD HAVE KILL SOMEONE!!!!! Professional boxers punches alone could kill a person. Can you imagine a loaded punch?????

    Toney's been caught TWICE.

I don't condone loading gloves for a second.

But the lightweight punishments handed out to boxers for doping are hardly disincentives.

The "I know I doped, but I didn't realise it" excuse is pitiful. It doesn't hold up in any other sport. In fact, I've heard Mosley passed a lie detector test that 'proves' he knew nothing.

So what? Anyone could do that if you said to your trainer/nutritionist. "I'll just take what you give me. I'll trust your judgement."

Then take a lie detector test. You'd pass every time.

And if an athlete who's career is worht millions every time he fights doesn't monitor EVERYTHING he takes, then ignorance is no excuse. He should bloody well know what he's taking.

The hardning of the hand wraps is like using a weapon. The steroids that Mosley was using EPO causes the body to heal quickly and is naturally produced by the kidneys. All steroids dont make u big and aggressive.

This is not the same thing.

EPO is a very dangerous drug when given to healthy people since it is not being used to boost blood haemocrit to normal levels but to potentially lethal levels. It requires regular injections and monitoring of blood level by use of centifuges - I simply dont beleive it would have been given to someone who didnt understand what it does and how it should be used in relative safety.

His career will undoubtedly forever be questioned and he will go down as a disgrace to the sport.

I had nothing but respect for Margarito but how can you defend what he was attempting to do? I certainly cannot. There must be stern consequences for him.

Good lord it's just gets MORE and MORE ridiculous. Any finding of guilt in the Mosley fights has NO BEARING on previous fights. Of course the results will not be changed, because there's no PROOF of any wrongdoing!!:patsch

Whether or not we ever find out if Margarito had cheated before the Mosley fight is really inconsequential. The doubt you speak of will become overwhelming as people will almost assuredly go back and review his past fights.

Ah, a new way to bypass even an ATTEMPT to find proof! Who cares if there's any facutal evidence?? After all, it's inconsequential if there is proof!! Who cares about FACTS? We'll just make it up as we go along on this merry witch-hunt!!!

Looking back at my previous post, I will say that what I said wasn't really fair. If Margarito is proven innocent in his past fights it would vindicate him up to the Mosley fight.

However, I'd like to know how one can retroactively investigate whether or not he used loaded gloves in previous fights. Until this happens and yields concrete (no pun intended) evidence there is nothing but speculation and the fresh memory of Antonio being caught last Saturday. As it stands, people are going to have doubts until things get cleared up and they are entitled to do so. Antonio planted the seeds of doubt himself by attempting to do a very dangerous thing. The doubts that have been cast on his past fights (the Cotto fight in particular) are merely part of the fallout and to think that they would not surface would be rather foolish don't you think?

Mosley has been caught juicing. Is his career a "no contest" as well?
