Floyd's lead right hand & gut jab will have a easy night, since Margarito is slow as hell, it just shows how much Mosleys foot work has declined.

Mosley can cause problems, especially with his power but Floyd has already show he can evade that (De La Hoya fight).

Mosley landed over 30% of his shots against a fighter who isn't that great defensively, it's going to be a different story again the best defensive boxer out at the moment.

I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd made this fight look easy on fight night.

But it will be a very intriguing night.

22% isnt a large amount of punches landed, its actually pretty bad to be honest.

22% Okay, but lets also note that Shane fought the style that would win him the fight, he took risk, Floyd is not a big banger he is going to fight a saftey first style of fight, he will look to play counter puncher all night long.
if Floyd barely got by Oscar at that age its going to be just as tuff with Mosley, hell if Castillo was able to make it a tuff fight for Floyd Mosley will be in the fight.
I hate these kinds of threads becuase basicly to me its as if your looking for any little thing to hold on to so that in your mind you can have some sort of confidence going in.
Nobody knows how this fight is going to play out, and to say its going to be easy, if you really beleive that you just dont know boxing, and should probably stop following the sport, Shane Mosley is no easy fight for anybody.

I agree that 22% isn't that a great of number but when your next opponent has 10x superior hand speed then your previous opponent, it stating something.

22% isn't high, and Compubox is a meaningless system that NO one should take seriously.

That said, I agree that Mayweather's straight accurate punches, mainly the jab and right hand, will be key. I see Mosley having all kinds of problems with those two punches the most, having his rhythm all ****ed up, in dropping a clear decision to Floyd.

Regardless of what compubox says, Marg didn't land a single significant punch.

Also, have you heard the phrase "styles make fights"? I don't think there are two fighters walking the face of the Earth more different than Marg and Floyd.

Styles do make fights but i can't see Mosley foot work & defence increasing significantly for the fight.

I'm not sure I like what's being implicated here. It seems as though in a subtle way that you are undermining Shane before the fight to undermine Floyd Mayweather's win if in fact he does win the fight.

By the way 22% is by no means anything to brag about- in fact is below average so I'm not sure what you're getting at here.

I'm saying right now it's going to be a relatively easy fight for Floyd. Sure, shane has a chance but too many factors are against him here. Mayorga was like 1.5 or 2 years ago and he looked like crap. Floyd is just too slick and should be able glide to a victory. I think Shane can make it interesting for the first 4-5 rounds but it'll just get easier and easier for Floyd as the fight progresses

The thing that's great about this fight is that anytime you try to base an opinion on SSM on his performance in a recent fight, it's negated by his performance in yet another recent fight.

The Margarito, Mayorga, and Cotto fights paint three completely different pictures. It's like you have to either throw them all out or take them as aggregate. Focusing on just one doesn't give you the whole picture. And they don't show a chronological progression, either. People thought he looked great for the most part against Cotto, keeping on even terms - then he was lambasted for letting Mayorga outbox him at times despite making it all academic in the closing seconds - then he was praised as having turned the clock back 20 years in his whipping of Margarito. It's crazy. Throw in the fact that Mosley has probably been cooking up his own "beat Floyd" recipe for years, and he's a total absolute X factor in this fight.

He could dominate or be dominated.

We know who Floyd is, and what he does. Even after long layoffs, at different weights - Floyd is Floyd. His changes have been slight and gradual over the course of his career. Yeah, he banged more in the smaller divisions. Other than that he's been the same man in the ring every time he's stepped through the ropes. He's one of those who professes not to watch tape or to customize strategies for each opponent, IIRC. He will just be the same old Floyd vs. whatever X-factor Mosley presents that night.

The same old Floyd could dominate...or be dominated.

It all depends on what the unpredictable variable - the x-factor that is Sugar Shane. Trying to make heads or tails of his recent performances to get an idea of how he'll do against Floyd will just make your head spin.

Sure Floyd is more accurate than Margarito, but like I said Shane wanted and had no other choice then to fight that way, had he tried to box it may have very well back fired on his ass.
Shane stayed in close smootherd most of that 22% that did land, turned Margarito taking advantage of his poor balance and bad footwork, and knocked out Margarito lets not forget that neither, Shane Mosley knocked out the un knock outable Antonio Margarito, he also knocked out Mayorga who has a solid chin, who came with a different style than Shane was expecting.
Shane also fought a close fight with Cotto, knocked out Vargas as well.
I think anybody who says Floyd wins easy is an out right dip ****..... this isnt going to be easy for Floyd, Shane is going to make him fight.
