No. The situation is clearly different this time. This is three years later, Margarito is coming off losses to Mosley and Pacquiao, Cotto is coming off a loss to Pacquiao. Cotto didn't exactly look impressive against Mayorga in my opinion, he was hurt in that fight. I expect both to hurt each other in this fight till someone eventually drops and doesn't get up.

Its been 3 years, they are both at completely different stages and there are more factors that come into play this time around.

 

People exaggerate how shot each fighter really is.

I think it's too hard to relate it to the first fight.

 

If he starts beating the **** out of him I might consider switching off, I can't watch.

I'm not sure who I'm rooting for. I want Cotto to get his revenge but I'm still a big Tony fan, but cheering on Margarito again would feel dirty, for a number of reasons.

 

In Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 Cotto's dad comments on Cotto's beating by Antonio as something he had never seen before.. he mentioned his son was bleeding from the ears and Antonio kept hitting harder every round. I dont know about you guys but if he had them for the Mosley fight .. there is a high possibility he had them for the Cotto fight imo.

Furthermore, this is still a hard match-up for Cotto; especially in the light middleweight division, where Margarito has a bigger weight advantage.

 

If that happens, the Pac's win against Cotto is downrated a notch and his win against Margie gets uprated.

 

interesting questions. i guess the only one we can answer properly is "If he gets the **** kicked out of him and can't seem to hurt Cotto, are we then convinced he was cheating all along?" which would be a YES.
if he beats cotto in similar fashion to the last time it certainly weakens the case that he had loaded gloves.
some people will say "cotto never recovered from the first fight" etc whereas others will be convinced he didnt cheat and that the mosley fight was the first. we'll soon see.

 

Phoney Margocheato, should be banned from boxing and if I was Cotto I would never fight this scumbag and give him a payday.

Of course he cheated in the past, Mosley looked like **** going into the fight so why cheat against this guy who lost to the guy you just destroyed?
