Suppose Hatton got injured and had to step down. Margarito stepped in to replace him, and Floyd was unable to back out.

Who would have won on that night?

You think so? Margarito is larger, stronger, takes a better shot and is better at cutting off the ring.

I'd agree with that, but that means nothing in relation to a fight with Floyd. Floyd beat Hatton 7 rounds to 2 before knocking him out.

Floyd has great stamina, and is about 5 times better at peforming the style Cotto implemented against Margarito (with NO exaggeration there)... So I'd say it'd look similiar to Cotto-Margo in the first 6 rounds, but happening over the entire 12.

Floyd would have won a 8-4 UD.

While people praise Cotto for doing it Mayweather will have become bashed for doing such a thing as boxing.

I don't know about 5 times better but yeah, I agree although I doubt if Floyd would open up as much as Cotto. It could end up like Castillo-Floyd I where Castillo was robbed.

Not 5 times better than Cotto, but 5 times better at implementing the style that Cotto used against Margarito.

Floyd-Castillo was 6 years ago, has nothing to do with how a Floyd-Marg fight would turn out, and anyhow was hardly a robbery (it's possible to ARGUE the fight for Castillo, but it was close, no robbery... I had it 116-113 Floyd). Not to mention Floyd over-turned it no more than 6 months later... So why wouldn't the fight turn out like Floyd-Castillo 2, but rather like Floyd-Castillo 1?

True, it could end up either way. Interestingly, when Floyd was training for the Hatton fight, he hired Baldomir for sparring on that HBO Countdown show. Of course, we didn't get to see any of it but afterwards, Floyd was flat out exhausted.

Of course, Floyd easily outpointed Baldomir before that but it shows the potential if someone stronger, better and more RELENTLESS than Baldomir was to show up.....

Floyd takes himself to hell and back in sparring, possibly the reason he makes it look so easy in his fights usually.

I've heard Floyd spars 15 minute rounds with a fresh boxer after every 5 mins... or something LIKE that... That's damn near unbelievable.

Nonetheless, his exhaustion had NOTHING to do with Baldormir... Simply how hard he was working HIMSELF.
