If Margarito's legacy is tarnished, why isn't Trinidad's?

    Why does Trinidad get a free pass?

    He did the same thing. He got caught. One would have to suspect that he, like Margarito used the wraps in other fights as opposed to just one fight against Hopkins.

    If Margarito did use the handwraps in other fights, which considering his current circumstances is very easy to believe, it was reprehensible behavior and is one of the worst kinds of cheating in any type of sport.

    Chances are Margarito lost a lot of fans before his fight with Mosley and will continue to lose fans in days and maybe months to come unless evidence turns up that suggests otherwise it was a one time thing or the less likely scenario, that Margarito was totally unaware.

    So, why is Trinidad still worshipped as a hero? I understand that Puerto Rico is a tiny island, but there have been many great champions that weren't cheaters or at least weren't caught. At the same time, I know that you need to forgive people for what they've done.

    But still, either way you look at it, if the boxers used handwraps it is near impossible to take their careers seriously.

    So why the pass?

    While its not legal to layer tape and gauze like Tito, its much, much, much worse to actually add an outside substance to the mix.

    I mean its apples and oranges really.

    Trinidad's wraps were illegal by the rules, but he only used tape and gauze.

    Margarito's camp were pre-treating the gauze with the unknown substance.

    Much much worse.

    That is a way for either Cotto or Floyd fans to discredit Margarito win over Cotto
    and give some legitimacy for the case of Floyd ducking Margarito.

    From what I understand, what Nazim Richardson said when he described Trinidad's wraps, was that they too were as hard as concrete too!

    Damn.....

    What is being said about Tito's handwraps is like sayin the guys that took steriods in the seventies get a free pass cuz they were weaker steriods compared to today's modern steriods.

    Do ya'll see the hypocricy? Tito is just a man like any other man. In my opinion, only one man that walked the earth deserves the kind of god like status some of you give to people on this earth today. And if ya all don't know who that is, I pray that ya get the answer.

    without the loaded gloves, cotto will thrash margarito worst than mosley did, margarito is a bum thats it.

    Another stuck on stupid Margarito nuthugger who has decided to comeback to ESB with an "alias" to discredit Tito hoping somehow to make a case for Margarito's scandal. GTFO shithead, why dont you comeback with your real username, that is if you have "cojones" papa? :huh

    And is this thread by a MArgarito lover that just has to bring down Cotto or Trinidad in every thread

    i dont think there should be any exceptions for anybody that cheats...i mean, it was quoted that what trini did made his hands like bricks too...wether or not he used legal ****, it's still boils down to the same ****....**** all cheaters !!!


    and the sad thing about it is, even though everybody wants to praise mosley, he himself did something that is inexcusable......so everybody loses on this one, EVERYBODY !!!

    There's little difference between the two really. In my mind Trinidad is as much of a cheater as Margarito.

    only difference is that tito's long gone so nobody will give a ****...

    i clearly remember the reports saying that what tito did made his wraps "concrete like"....:-(
