Juan Manuel Marquez has no chance in this fight.

To answer the thread question however, he would leapfrog Morales, Barrera, and be a lock for a top 3 position behind Sanchez and Olivares.

 

He would be top 5 in my book, and there are/were some great Mexican fighters that many fans don't know about...along with the ones they do know.

 

You actually think Marquez would leapfrog Sanchez if he beat Floyd Mayweather Jr?

I think Julio Cesar Chavez is overrated, by the way.

 

He would be above him in my book. After all it would be as if Chavez would have won his fight against Whitaker.

 

Let's not compare Whitaker, who outclassed fellow ATG's on more than one occasion, to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Still, I think Marquez would leapfrog Chavez, who I do not rate as highly as Sanchez and Olivares.

 

True.... But No1? Only if he beats PBF, Pac and Hatton then he'll be the No. 1 mexican. Or I might just be bias towards JCC.

 

You overrate Juan Manuel Marquez, anyhow FINITO. You probably have him above Morales and Barrera, two fighters with superior resumes up at this point. Only a win over Mayweather Jr or Pacquiao could lift him above those guys in my estimation, and then he still has some work to do to be considered the greatest Mexican fighter that ever lived.

iF Marquez beats Floyd, which is just not going to happen and I'm a huge Marquez fan, then he would leapfrog Barrera, Morales, and Sanchez. If he then beat Pacquiao who had just defeated Hatton, he would probably get a numero uno spot.

Not going to happen.

 

2nd, not behind JCC Sr !!! just imagine a fight between prime chavez LW against a prime JMM at LW(I know prime Marquez wasnt at LW) but that fight happening would be interesting but at the end JCC would win, just watch the Juan Diaz fight jmm was in trouble because of the pression, Chavez is Juan Diaz x10 with a steel chin, he would never loose that fight so please dont say JMM would be on top of Chavez, dont get me wrong i love jmm but he wouldnt beat chavez !!!

 

Nobody is about to debate whether or Chavez beats Marquez at 135lb. It's a no brainer.

 

BTW If JMM wins against mayweather i would put him in 2nd tied with sanchez...
