Does he become boxings next superstar? or will he lose the belt immediately? Your thoughts?

No because Cotto, Mosley, Pac would knock him out way before the hype train could truly get going.

He can't be Boxing's next superstar because he's old and he doesn't have "Hollywood looks." And he doesn't speak english, the media doesn't want to hype up some dude who can't speak english, is old and doesn't have the looks. Now, in Mexico and may'be other places he will be treated like a king, but most of the media won't give him ****.

Marquez was never destined to be boxings next superstar, just an incredibly hard working, gifted, true warrior, who does most of his stuff away from the media spotlight

Marquez never thrust himself into the media spotlight the way someone like Mayweather or Tyson did. He's a very different person from those type of man

He has almost no chance of beating Floyd, but if he does, he becomes arguably the greatest Mexican boxer of all time

Yes, he was 26 when he became a superstar after he "beat" DLH. Twenty six is not old. Try again.

Well then, Marquez certainly has the deck stacked against him in all directions, but my feeling as not only a Marquez fan but as an observer, is that win or lose, JMM is out and will put out a performance to be proud of!:bbb:bbb:bbb:bbb

then he'll deserve a rubber-match with pac (no matter pac's outcome with cotto) , or , if cotto wins , a match with cotto (which i hope will not happen because of the size diferrence)
marquez should not fight above 135 , he's risking his health by doing that. if he , by some weird way , beats mayweather , he should thank his luck , and get back to 135. but he has no fights in 135 ! so maybe he should retire !

and by retiring i meant : after the mayweather fight and if he's unable of getting another health-waster / brain-shaker with pacquiao.
after all , he'll have enough money by then if he doesn't want to imitate tyson and holyfield.
