Knowing he matched or exceeded Pac in all 3 fights...plus knowing what you know of his resume, where would he rank on the list of Mexcan ATGs?

Just to put it out there, the ring magazine's list pre Marquez-Pac 3, goes as follows:

    1.Julio Cesar Chavez
    2. Ruben Olivares
    3. Salvador Sanchez
    4. Carlos Zarate
    5. Marco Antonio Barrera
    6. Erik Morales
    7. Miguel Canto
    8. Ricardo Lopez
    9. Vicente Saldivar
    10. Juan Manuel Marquez

IMO he would move up to #5 on the ring's list.

    # 7 or #6

And how the hell is Ricardo Lopez so low?

He's THE all time great strawweight ffs, most dominant fighter ever in that division and only mexican champion to retire undefeated

Simple. He fought the weakest level of opposition out of all the fighters on show. :think

That wasn't his fault, he fought the best opposition that was available for him and cleaned up the division.

It's not like he was padding his record with bums intentionally like Chavez Jr. does

also, whom did Canto fought that was noteworthy?

Firstly, it's irrelevant whether or not it was his fault or not. Secondly, it was his fault. He had ample opportunity to move up to Light Flyweight and force himself into a fight with either Carbajal or Gonzalez at any time. He made a conscious decision to stay at Minimumweight, the barren wasteland of the Boxing world.

Canto, a fighter who I have ranked at one place above Lopez? Comparable levels of opposition. Swap them around if it makes you feel better.

if he fights morales and wins the 140 lb title put him in at 4 behind sanchez.

if he retires now i think he is tied with morales, i don't agree with number 4 on the list though

    Nr5 for me.
But ive rated JMM ahead of EM and Marco for a while now.

All 3 amazing fighters though but Marquez is just the more rounded of the 3 and imho he beat Pac at least twice which gives him the best record too.

I think a prime Barrera would have whooped his ass.

Morales and Barrera are ahead of him imo.

Just behind Barrera and a pubic hair in front of Morales. And even if JMM fights Morales it won't be a true reflection of their all time standing.Just a fine wat for them to bow out.
