If Marquez landed the punch Maidana did. Would Floyd have been sleeping?

    I'll be honesty I do critique Mayweather's work, but his chin and the Maidana stumble are not among them. Mosley is a much more proven puncher and carried his power up to 154. Mayweather took it and went on the offensive. Maidana's punch was well timed, but if it meant anything he would have capitalized on it for the next 9 rounds. People grasping at straws now.

    4 at cracks at Floyd? Do you mean "4 cracks at Floyd", as in, "What if Marquez had fought Floyd 4 times, like Pacquiao?"?

    I don't think it would have mattered. Marquez lost every round against Floyd. There's no reason to think the outcome would be any different if they fought 3 more times.

    Floyd would know better than to lunge in headfirst like Pacquiao did.

    I couldn't agree more. Pbf wasn't even badly hurt he was stunned and off balance from throwing a pull counter.

    i know fights were fighters get knocked out then get rematch then end up knocking the other fighter out this is laws of maths for example if maidana had 2 cracks on floyd and in the second fight landed that right hand he did not do that in the first fight what about if he fought him 3 times? he might land a even better shot see these things is deeper

    Cut it out man. You calling out Marquez for being on PED's is like the kettle calling the pot black. No one had evidence Pacquiao was on PED's, nor do they have any proof Marquez is/was.

    I can see where you are coming from, dont get me wrong.

    You say that Maidana caught Mayweather on a counter. Agreed, he did.

    The shot was very well timed as Floyd was turning into the punch. With the right cross, his left arm was down and his body weight was transitioned forward. Turning into a punch has a massive impact on how the power is placed and it has a much greater impact on your neck. The only thing that stopped Mayweather going down from the shot (imo) was the fact (as you stated) he had his feet under him.

    I think with the incredible right hand Marquez has mastered, it would have cause Floyd more than chicken legs. Again, just my opinion :good

    JMM never wanted a rematch with PBF despite the fact he would get a career high payday and a shot at redemption but was willing to face Pac 4 times.:lol: In other words he knew PBF would always beat him and it was hopeless but felt he was always in a fight with Pac and felt that he was robbed until he stopped Pac in the 4th.

    Why would you disregard that punch? It was a well timed punch from Maidana that landed clean as Floyd was turning into the punch.

    If you were to critique Floyds work, it would be one of the stand out points? How often does Floyd get hit clean? Especially with his weight coming forward like he did in that shot?

    You mention Mosley & how he had much greater power. That is true, but out of respect to Mayweather, back in 2010 when he fought Mosley, he would not have got himself in that predicament in the first place. I think it was a one off reckless moment. Personally, I believe if Mosley caught him with the same shot, prime/prime Floyd would have been in trouble too.

    Im not grasping at any straws. I ****ysed the fight and found it interesting that Floyd left himself open like that to a power puncher. Asking a simple 'in-theory' question isn't exactly reaching for straws. It was simply for discussion purposes. Not to spread any rank agenda like some of the others on here.

    I suppose lewis never wanted the rematch with rahman he lost to rahman and lewis fought him again by your logic he will lose again no he didnt he knocked him the **** out many cases like this

    lets even use the maidana example maidana had 2 cracks at floyd and got closer with big shot in the second fight he landed his best shot in both fights what if he fought him again who is to say he never lands a better shot?

    anyone who believes just because you beat a fighter once does not mean you can beat him again for example garcia vs lucas i can bet that if the fight happens again the fight will not be the same let alone if they fight 4 times
