Then what does that say about his legacy, greatness and abilities as a fighter? Sure we can say that he took prime Pacquiao to the brink. That's all causals really know and think he's this H2H nightmare. But stylistically Marquez is all wrong for Pacquiao. He's the worst stylistic matchup that you could possibly think of for Pac. He's got an iron chin and heart for days. He's dual handed and loves to counter. So basically Pacquiao kyrptonite. But against skilled boxers he struggled. He almost lost to a near shot Barrera. Lost to Norwood clearly and perhaps deserved his loss to Chris John. The Mayweather fight isn't fair because of size differences. But even if they were the same size hypothetically I don't think H2H a bigger version of Marquez could handle Mayweather. It really got me thinking that there's no way in hell he could beat Morales prime for prime if Morales fought a disciplined boxers fight. And Morales usually did fight to his level of competition. And when the man chose to box he could really box. Especially at 126 and his early days at 130.
If Morales fights a disciplined fight he outboxes him fairly easily. He may even force a late accumulation TKO. Marquez wouldn't get past the jab. And the right hand that follows it will hurt him.
