If Marquez was "too small" for Mayweather, Isn't Pac as well?

Floyd will jump at the oppurtunity to fight pac should he get by Cotto. He'll be salivating at a huge payday for an easy fight kind of the way that RJJ was hoping that Trinidad would get by hopkins back in the day.

If pacman had trouble with the counter punching style of someone like marquez I don't know what makes people think that he'll be able to compete with Floyd.

Floyd is bigger than marquez, hits harder, has a better chin (so forget about those knockdowns that have been pacquiaos salvation), is faster, has a better defense. So basically pacquiao is going up against a bigger, better fighter than the one that he fought tooth and nail against and somehow people think he has a chance?

For starters you guys are putting the cart way ahead of the horse here. There is no garantee that pacquiao will get by Cotto and if he does Floyd will handle him with ease.

 

Two fights and if he didn't fight DLH no one would have known how he can perform there and DLH took a lot of **** for taking it when ******s thought he's taking the easy way and will end it within seconds.

Got to perform for people to judge, that's the point.

 

Pac struggled with Marquez due to weight issues in 2nd fight. As I said, Pac has improved in everyway since moving up from 130. My only worry is that Pac may take a pounding against Cotto and may never be the same fighter..easy pickings for Floyd

 

Larios & Pac were both fighting at 122...yet Larios was considered too small for Pac at 130, when infact Larios is 5'8 vs Pac 5'6. Now can you imagine Larios fighting at WW?

What you are saying is that when pac fought morales he was so small that letting morales weigh in 2 pounds over the limit was such a risk that he wouldn't do the fight but that just a few fights later he was so big that he himself had trouble making the weight?

Manny has trouble with counter punchers. He has always found a way to win because he is an excellent fighter but he is not going to be able to do that against someone that holds as many advantages over him as floyd. as of right now this is just speculation. We can argue back and forth all day about it and we are not going to change each others mind. If the fight ever gets made one of us can come back on here and say I told you so.

depends on the individual fighter...JMM cannot carry the weight like PBF can. Marquez is a smaller fighter, period. Floyd Jr. is a great technical fighter with all the tools and some.

 

I always thought this too. However, I think PBF should get more credit for these two fights than B-Hops for Oscar, although I think the Tito fight was a good win for him and give him credit for that.

 

:good thats exactly right, but they say pac carrys the weight better because he is all ripped up in ****.but thats just the way he is built.if jmm was to small then so is pac, its all bs to me because floyd never tryed to bully him.he outclassed him on superior skill, he did not going in there and just try to bomb away on him.mayweather could have been 100 pounds and it still would have looked the same way.

No, Pacquiao is at an age where its normal to put weight on and his frame supports it just fine also. He's had time to adjust as well, remember on fight night he came in at 149 against ODLH and looked ripped as usual, Marquez looked soft. Juan is 35 and just added fat, he's done growing at that age.

 

yeah I agree, Pac beats down Hatton and DLH, both of which where shot and now people think he can take Floyd, no way in hell can he win that fight.

Both these fights were formalities. Neither Marquez nor Oscar belonged in the division they were fighting in at the time. Bad as the decision was, Oscar had at least gotten in the ring with a true middleweight in Sturm. Marquez jumped straight into the deep end and it looked like it.

Hopkins also got the stoppage.

 

Pac carries the weight much better, but he probably IS too small for PBF. We won't know til after the Cotto fight.

It's totally ****ing self-evident we don't know **** about Pac at welterweight until he actually fights at welterweight. Why must we look at 458 ******ed threads everyday like this one?

 

If Marqueaz fought the same DLH and the same Hatton that Manny fought would we say he is not fit fro the "higher weights" as Manny?? Marquez fought Mayweather, Manny fought (drained and old)DLH and Hatton(weathered and went up against a feather-fisted fighter who had no chance os outboxing because Hatton is way too quick on his feet for Paulie to keep him off with one jab)?! Who had the tougher fights, Manny or Marquez??
