Yer, ive always tried to wish Mathew well, but its starting to wear a little thin now. Had a good win against Bami last time out, going to Vegas to fight a nobody on Rickys undercard is doing **** all for his career! I mean wot is he hoping will happen, the US tv networks will spot him? come on! Hes a domestic level fighter, which means the brit title is his pot of gold.

    A couple of things......

    The Warren/Hatton issue

Matthew Hatton has a decent chin. How dare you suggest he fight Kell Brook?

I agree though.... he could be building on the decent wins he has had against Bami and Tackie, but instead is wasting time and clogging up an undercard slot that could go to someone like Darren Sutherland.

Matthew Hatton pisses me off bumming off his brother.

Christ sake, he's supposed to be 30 odd years old and a seasoned campaigner and he's fighting nonsense fighters on his brothers undercard. The thing that most frustrates me is these spots are supposed to be filled by promising talents, showcasing them and giving them a great experience.

    :good

    Great Call!

Do you think its become kind of a routine for the Hattons now though, that they train together and fight on the same night? Maybe provides Ricky with some sort of home comfort almost? Its the only reason I can think for it, becouse in my opinion its actually harming him rather than helping him.

thats my main concern aswell. It justs makes for a **** undercard(stateside that is)

Think,if you were him would you really want to fight in front of 20 odd people in the arena when even your own team are focused elsewhere(Ricky)

As an only child I cannot really understand..... but I am 100% sure that I would want to actually do something myself.

To be able to look in the mirror and say I achieved something on my own - rather than relying on a brother who just happened to be really good and popular?

I guess it's the same for sons that take over father's businesses.... some can't really cope for some reason, then go it alone and succeed.

Maybe it does provide Ricky with some home comfort, but so ****ing what - he can still go and watch, be in the change room..... watching Matthew fight is hardly going to get him up for anything other than a catnap.

Well, he's had enough fights now however old he is. He's never won a meaningful title apart from an Area level belt. It's not as if he isn't good enough to at least challenge for a British title, I know he got whooped by Watson but these are the fights he needs at this stage. He needs to get his act together and stop fighting bums on his brothers undercard because it helps nobody, not least the fighters that could and should be there.

I must have said this a million times!

Young fighters should get the chance to go abroad and fight on big shows - if a British fighter is on the aforementioned bill, they could easily grab a couple of slots.... if only for the micky mouse show the day before.

Ricky got the chance to box in the States about three times and also in Germany.... why is somebody else being denied because of Matthew?

I mean.... he has had like 6 goes now.... surely that's enough?

At the end of his career someone will probably ask him what he actually achieved. Erm..... I fought in Vegas five times, in Boston, on Ricky's undercards..... I challenged for the Commonwealth title and got my ass whipped (on Ricky's undercard) I won an area title, an interalphabetty title and finished with a record of 67-5-2 with 35 KO's.

Ray Hatton said last night on 24/7 that both of them could have been footballers, and someone (can't remember who) said Matthew was better than Ricky..... perhaps he ought to have stuck to that.

If it failed, he could always have gone back to boxing and done pretty much what he has up to press!
