If Max Baer was black, how many of losses would people claim he was wearing the cuffs in?

Of course some people would assume that he wore the cuffs.

The alternative would be that he really was that stupid.

When Joe Louis was trying to find a promoter, Roxborough had to choose between Mike Jacobs and Jimmy Johnston. Roxborough called both of them on the phone.

"Johnston never met Roxborough, and could not tell from his voice that the manager was black. He assumed Roxborough was white and made no attempt to conceal his racism. Sure he could arrange a payday for Joe, but only on his terms."

Jimmy Johnston to Roxborough "Well you understand he's a N. And he can't win every time he goes in the ring." Roxborough goes "So am I" and hung up.

Is there any doubt Black Heavyweights of that generation were treated unfairly compared to white heavyweights? Is there any doubt a lot of them were forced to take part in pre arranged fixed fights the way Johnston wanted to do with Louis?
