Cotto has 6 undefeated people on his record. Pinto (someone who beat him in the Olympics) Maussa (who later became champion) Quintana (who later beat PDub was the favorite in the fight against Cotto) Torres Paulie (another favorite in the fight) Foreman (very live underdog) People seem to forget that Cotto wasn't quite "proven" either when he fought them. All these people with the exception of Foreman and Pinto became champions.
HAHAHAHA!! You guys always kill me with these sarcastic picture responses, but they get the point across so well. I guess a picture is truly worth a thousand words. lol.
jacory is an iiot. cotto stole his ***** and pissed on her. now jacory is jaded and an idiot. it happens. not to mention he is so pathetic he has to pretend to be someone else lol so sad . i think he has down syndrome
Mayo wasn't that far off from HOF material and he gets seriously underrated for what he had to offer at 147. He was a MASSIVE puncher with strong chin and underrated skills. Here's the real deal with him tho: He got in trouble with Ortega, and word is he was forced to perform or not perform according to Daniel Ortega's whim.
Nothing he does now goes back in time and erases double digit victories over world champions or four-time world champion over three weight classes...and all the...F-A-M-E. Because it's a hall of...FAME. It's not a hall of awesometastic boxing skills. That's the HOABS not the HOF, IB. You used it! Good usage. I approve.
Who said anything about going back and erasing anything? Not this guy! My point is that some people (incl. some people whose say actually matters in this regard) will probably look at Cotto's achievements up until now - up to and culminating with Foreman for the sake of this conversation - as falling short of their HOF criteria. Think of some of the guys who've been on the bubble but haven't ever made it in...and now think about whether their resumes (or their fame in their day) pale in comparison to Cotto's... They'll also take the high-profile losses (which may or may not include Mayorga...but probably not...but we'll see) and the nature of those losses into consideration. Tough crowd, nahmsaying? It's a very nice resume, but it isn't instant boner material. Yes, Miguel is pretty famous right now. I kind of feel like unless he pulls at least one more rabbit out of one more hat, he might have the type of fame that diminishes over time and might have his career looked at a bit more skeptically as the years pass.
