Wait minute, if you say "I saw Ali fight Joe Frazier but the best I ever saw Ali was when he fought Foreman" you're using the first fight as an example of a solid performance to use to say what he did vs Foreman was better than that.

You're not gonna bring up the Mayweather fight in that context if you thought he was completely dominated.

Mayweather would drain his ass to 152 and win 3-0.

The question was what would happen if fights #2 and #3 were at 154.

Giving Floyd 10 rounds is pretty generous to Floyd, but at least you don't think it was a shutout like some fans do.

I can't answer that. Canelo would do better, but I don't know if he would win. IMO 154 is still light for him and Floyd is not a good stylistic matchup for him.

Floyd isn't a good stylistic matchup for anybody, but given the success Maidana had in his first fight with Floyd, I don't see how that version of Floyd would make easy work of Canelo.

Maidana stylistically is actually a harder match up for PBF than Canelo is. For starters Maidana is unpredictable and difficult to time and get a read on. He's a awkward pressure fighter/slugger and throws a looping overhand right which can land over the top of PBF's should roll and land on his temple a very good punch to have against PBF. He's also a dirty fighter unlike Canelo who used his strength and size to maul crowd and hit behind the head and try and rough up PBF. Lastly he was willing to sell out to beat PBF, meaning he's willing to get knocked out or take alot of punishment to win. Canelo although he has a iron chin selling out is his last option not his first. At his core Canelo is a thinking man's fighter he makes calculated decisions in the ring and would always prefer to box and you're not going to beat PBF at his own game by doing this. You can't outbox the outboxer and you can't outhink the master, which is why PBF is a horrible stylistic match up for him because he can't beat PBF at his own game. Not even factoring in that PBF has better reflexes faster feet better defense and longer reach. There's no shame in Canelo losing to PBF it provided him valuable experience and he learned from it.

Depends on how much Mexican cows will Canelo eat for the rematch

Well presuming he was incapacitated at 152 the difference could of been substantial, these guys ain’t daft, the likes of Floyd and Oscar know exactly what weight will incapacitate a fighter in as much as there’s a point where the guy can’t pull off his rehydration trick.

Floyd would of been wary of Canelos size advantage even then and Canelo,Oscar knowing first hand about did the same Chavez jnr who had to drain himself over months to the point where he himself couldn’t put anything back on overnight.

It seems Shadow that most on here feel that the result would of been the same at 154?playing Devils advocate there’s a reason Floyd wouldn’t give him those two pounds and imo whilst the result may of been the same Canelo would of had more power at 154 albeit the skill he exhibits now wasn’t evident when he fought Floyd.

Good post and that was one fight where Canelo should of done a Maidana, course he realised afterwards that his plan to box one of the most gifted boxers of all time was perhaps a bit daft.Could of at least tried to rough Floyd up,that said that fight is one of my all time fav fights, seen it loads of times and buzz off seeing Floyd that night as he was really on it and unlike some Mayweather performances he was deadly dangerous that night and was hitting harder than Canelo imo.

Man in all seriousness, you are mental if you believe this. It’s not a “trap”, we watched the fight bro...it wasn’t close or competitive. What are you trying to prove here, Canelo had his shot and lost, clearly and decisively.
