If Mayweather vs Cotto ever gets made and Floyd wins, what would be left for him to achieve in the world of boxing ??? .... Like most fight fans do, im sure some people will throw up a name saying he wont be considered an atg until he beats xxxxxxx ?? ..Personally i think a win over Cotto would cement his place as one of if not THE best boxer in history.

    p.s
    I fcukin hate him.

Best boxer in history ? What the hell have you been smoking.

Floyd could beat every welterweight out there today and he still wouldnt be the best simply because there have been boxers who are better.

I hate this "oh he has to beat him" bull****, its nonsense. You just have to look at a boxer and analyse him to realise if he's good or not. Obviously it helps if hes fighting good competition, but no essential.

naw he wouldnt be THE GREATEST but he would be top 30.. but the WW division is full of ppl so he needs to clean it out to be an ATG IMO

    Pavlik.

I don't think it's impossible. & if he pulled it off you'd be looking at a top 20 slot for him.

Nothing. Retire 40-0 and a top 20 ATG.

If he beats Cotto after beating De La Hoya, there's absolutely nothing else to prove in my opinion. No real need to fight Forrest or Spinks, no need to move up too high and fight Pavlik, and no need to fight B levels in Quintana, Margarito, or Cintron. Simpl;y put, any other wins would be icing on the cake, but retiring after beating Cotto would be a perfect way to leave boxing.

I'd consider him the best of this decade (since 2000)

There's no way "just Cotto" gets him into the top 20. No way. It would get him into my top 40 though.

Exactly. There would be no need for him to fight the other titlist since Cotto is head and shoulders better than the rest of them. If cotto remains unbeaten and the fight happens after PBF 'showdown' with the big show and ODH then boxing fans will be in for the real 'fight to save boxing'

In a lot of people's eyes, no m atter what he does he will never be a top 20 ATG, simply because they don't like his attitude. It's a shame he will never get the credit he deserves.

Difference of opinion then. I already have PBF as a top 30 ATG right now. Won 5 belts in 5 weightclasses by the age of 30 very dominant in 90% of his fights losing very few rounds in the process. Stacks up well in H2H matchups as well because of defense and ring smarts. He's a no brainer for top 30 right now.:deal

Agree with that analysis. But he could give MW a try. Running from and outpointing Pavlik catapults him up the ATG rankings, otherwise top 20 is the highest he can be ranked.

If beats Cotto then theres nothing for him to prove. He will go down as one of the best of all time.

I have him at 40 currently. That may be a wee bit low actually. I think I would have a long hard look at his placement if he beat Cotto.

top 30 on record, h2h he scrapes top 80.

Many fighters in history of boxing could have battered him. I don't even rate the welterweight division at the moment. Cotto hasn't proved ****
