Reading a lot of ya'lls posts, I agree.. If Mayweather beats Cotto, I would show some respect to him as he would have fought the #1 challenger instead of semi-retired, junior welterweight, or journeymen fighters.. He would have a little respect and I wouldn't be giving him **** about not defeating an elite fighter, but he should be cleaning out the division.. Margo & Clottey both should be contenders for Floyd as well..

Again, your missing the ****ING point!

Mayweather owes it to himself and the sport to be fighting the best fighters in the world. Marquez is doing it, Manny is doing it, Cotto is fighting everybody in his division bar Mayweather.

Why is Mayweather fighting Oscar De La Hoya and Ricky Hatton?

Don't you guys feel that PBF has that rare chance to really be a top 10 ATG based on how strong his division is?

I think that's what a lot of fans want to see from him. To chase history and to try to cement his place instead of picking and choosing. If he thinks he's the GOAT, then go out and fight Williams, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, and Berto.

:patsch I knew I shouldn't have bothered. Like all Mayweather fanboys, you throw obstacles in the way.

Floyd Mayweather started lighter. Okay, that's common knowledge. Oscar De La Hoya is only 5 years older. Okay. But, it's also common knowledge that all fighters have different primes. Oscar's clearly ended a long time ago. He lost a lot of his biggest fights. Oscar isn't in his prime anymore whereas Mayweather clearly is. So I'll ask you again, why is Mayweather not fighting Miguel Cotto, Quintana, Williams, Margo, or anybody in his division that is considered the best.

Hatton was never consisted a great welterweight after his awful performance against Collazo. Oscar hasn't been considered a p4p threat for years now. So why is Mayweather fighting them. Answer that simple question, kid.

You failed to make one valid point.

I know your a fanboy so you will not budge, but I'll clarify the situation for you.

Floyd Mayweather Jr is somewhat of a con artist. He may well be the greatest fighter of the past 10 years, but he'll never prove it against the best fighters, whereas the likes of Ray Leonard, Ali, and Whitaker all did.

i'm a boxing fan i started out saying why cant we ever talk about other fighters with the passion we do money and cotto . I believe cotto will be exposed against money period I also agree money is staying his distance from margo because of risk reward cotto is not fighting judah or mosely when he fights money neither guys are good at adjustments money is one of the best who prime doesnt mean your best boxing because there are numerous boxers who do more beyond their primes much respect

The thread is deceptive, making Floyd sound like an innocent victim of circumstance. The question is a mute point until he signs up for it.
He gets **** BECAUSE he wont fight Cotto(Margo etc),so spare me the 'what will it take for you guys crap?'
If a druggie or alcoholic gets **** for their lifestyle, people will change their opinions of that person IF and WHEN they kick them, but they want to see it happen first, rather than them or their 'supporters' just talking about it.

Somewhat amused to see people questioning Mayweather fighting a P4P fighter in Hatton and then suggesting her could improve his ranking as an ATG by beating the likes of Clottey, Williams and Margarito

Was Hatton considered a better welterweight then either Williams or Margarito after his close victory with Collazo? I thought Hatton lost that fight.

Still, your avoiding the bigger picture like most of the Floyd fans. Floyd Mayweather claims to be the greatest fighter ever but isn't prepared to prove it. For that, he gets no credit.

Floyd Mayweather is a 6 time world champion in 5 weight classes, undefeated, something noone has ever done before. If these bitches wont leave him alone now, what makes you think they will leave him alone when he beats Cotto. There will always be somebody knew.

You gotta understand Floyd hater ***** logic. To them A 27 year old Cotto beating a 36 year old Mosley is more impressive then Floyd moving up to 154 and beating a 34 year old Oscar when he's 30 his damn self.
