If Mayweather beat Cotto, would you leave him alone?

Seriously that entire post was "LOOK WHAT FLOYD HAS DONE OUTSIDE OF 147!!!" Noone would say Floyd's resume isn't great...it's tremendous....outside of welter.

He's at 147 now...he's fought two welters in Zab Judah (who Cotto did more damage against) and Carlos Baldomir. Hatton was a blown up guy at 140 with no chance.

Am I wrong for wanting to see Floyd against welterweights?

    Technically, no.

But he was 2-2 in his last 4 fights when Mayweather wanted to fight him.

    Cotto was 4-0.
    Williams was 4-0.
    Margarito was 4-0.

Yeah you can do a lot with numbers. As long as you don't mind comparing fighting Walter Matthysse at welterweight to fighting Bernard Hopkins at Middleweight.

Mosely lost twice to winky. got killed by forrest .quintana proved what really prior to cotto. the welterweight divison belong tos spinks before judah baldomir beat judah and would be hell for everyone but maybe cotto and margo . Quintana beat paul williams so he should get another crack at cotto right.Cotto no doubt is the face of the welter but not of boxing. You can't fault money for cashing in on a legend and somewhat take his place thats smart . In my op i believe oscar poses a bigger threat than cotto hes more versatile and has a great chin . Cotto vs Margo first thats how it should be Two best welters compete for a chance at money And p4p king.Thats what boxing is about .

I would not hesitate to acknowledge him as the proven, legitimate, undisputed welterweight champion of his era.

Depending on how dominant he does or doesn't look, I would agree that his name at least belongs somewhere in the discussion of all time great welterweights.

I would still view his claim to being the best ever ludicrous and embarassing.

Well said. A common theme that these ***** ass haters like to say is Floyd took the path of "least resistance" when Mayweather beat the 2 top welterweight champs in the world in a row. Like its Mayweathers fault Spinks lost to Judah and Judah lost to Baldomir. What a bunch of bull****. And then making Oscar out to be a weak fighter, when Oscar would probably beat Cotto's weak chin havin ass. Couldnt even outland a 36 year old Mosley, and this is the best in the welterweight decision. What a crock of ****.

Lol. If Floyd knocked out Cotto Floyds haters would just have to straight assassinate him on the spot or kill themselves.

Much luv G rap. The majority of guys on here care more about a money lost than seeing a good fight .If we ask why money won't fight margo or cotto or williams. then lets start asking for calzaghe against Glen johnson Nobody wants his 0 to go thats why.

I agree margo is the most dangerous of the welters but what will be said if he knocks him out margo was a bum and thats why he not jumping to fight him or cotto.Gatti had the whole nj come watch him baldomir had the ring belt and judah vs mayweather had been anticipated since they both became pros what do these other guys offer to an elite fighter who if he stops now can always say he s un defeated won in 5 different classes fought legends and mede tons of bread. competition is one thing but of course everyone is gonna gun for the number 1 spot thats human nature. so when you get to num 1 you look back or you go forward de la hoya is forward hatton was forward why did oscar wait so long to try and whoop floyd . he let floyd make a name for hisself first as did hopkins as did mosely. basically cotto got his chance to get floyd in the ring and all he has to do is beat margo.
so if your boy is the man like floyd he'll his day once margo out the way and for the record Money is not campaignin at 147 he has the ring belt which he won from the ring champ not a belt from just another title holder

williams lost his chance and if cotto beats margarito and oscar then i expect cotto - floyd to happen.
