will it be considered a bigger win than the fight with De La Hoya? Where will Mayweathers name be amongst the top P4P fighters of all time?
No cause all the Hatton fans and Mayweather haters will say that Hatton shouldn't have been fighting at 147 and that its not his natural weight which is bull**** cause the man walks around at 175lbs when he's not in training. But trust me the excuses will come. Just like everyone gave Delahoya a good chance at beating Mayweather. When Mayweather won everyone said Oscar was too old and this and that. Mayweather cant win even if he wins.
yup...same **** everytime Mayweather wins. So-and-so has a chance, he's bigger he's stronger, etc. then Floyd wins, and the guy shouldnt have fought Mayweather he wasn't good enough.
You got it. If he beats: Hatton - "Hatton was a crude slugger." Cotto - "Not in the same league. Who'd he beat besides a washed-up Mosley?" Anybody. Doesn't matter who he beats.
Hatton gets far more brownie points for winning than MAyweather would if he won.Going up in weight fighting in the guys home town.If Mayweather wanted credit and prestige instead of money he would have chosen different opponents in different circumstances.
i certainly won't be giving that excuse. i've never even given that excuse for the collazo fight. always thought oscar would fall short by about 8 rds to 4. pretty good prediction was that one. :yep hatton on pts. :bbb
He gets credit for a Hatton win, also a Cotto win. IF he can pull both of those wins off. IIFFFFFFF. He aslo needs to fight Paul Williams to clean out the welters, and be THE MAN, no questions about it at 147. So thats 3 fights Mayweather has to win, if he even wants to be "mentioned" as a great fighter.
I think in terms of quality of opposition Hatton will be his best win ever. ODLH is pretty shot. If Floyd dominates Hatton it will do wonders for his legacy. Obviously if he struggles and pulls out a very close UD it will do less but still a little.
so much of top level boxing is about styles. oscar has never been that great against good slick boxers. he's always preferred boxing come forward guys. which is the reason i don't give hatton much chance against oscar if it ever comes off. :-( but i give hatton a damn good chance against floyd. :yep
Thats true but theres no rule that states Hatton has to come in at 147. So the haters can go **** themselves.
So all Floyd has to do is show up huh, and hes considered great? Theres never a "valid" reason to duck another fighter. Its called being a *****.
Greatness? You guys are smoking too much weed. His greatness would get his ass handed to him by SRL and the original "hitman".
