If the tables were turned and Floyd was running for office while Pacquiao took a soft tune-up, Pacquiao would get a pass and Floyd would get crucified. There's no doubt about it. It's laughable how this double standard exists so flagrantly and people choose to go on with it.

Edit: Of course, I fully expect and hope that it doesn't happen.

Why doesn't Pacquiao skip the election?

By the time Floyd is scheduled to fight Hatton next year and in the subsequent amount of time he will take off after that fight, he will have been almost FOUR YEARS WITHOUT FIGHTING A LEGITIMATE WELTERWEIGHT TITLE HOLDER.

    How coherent is that?

What does Pacquiao have to do with Mayweather's reluctancy to fight a decent welterweight?

Floyd vs. Pacquiao is the next logical fight. Nothing else in any sport makes more sense than this fight. I will be terribly disappointed if it doesn't get signed and happen next.

    According to Who?

Who has Pacquiao beaten....THE EXACT SAME PEOPLE FLOYD BEAT!!!

So why is it AWESOME for Pacquiao to Beat Oscar, Hatton, JMM and Cotto at 145lbs...Yet Floyd beats Hatton, JMM and Oscar at a Weight he has never fought 154lbs.

    Pac has never beaten a Welterweight at 147lbs..Always at a drained 145lbs...yet he has a 147lbs Title:huh

Exactly. How is there a "double standard" here when to even imagine the tables being turned requires that they be completely different people from who they are?
