You need more than one solid victory to dislodge pacman from his lodge

Well I dont think it will change, Pac will still be number 1, but if Mayweather looks great and totally embaresses Sugar shane, I might change opinion.

The doubts that I had that Joshua Clottey would make it competitive against Manny r the same and in equal amount to those concerning Floyd beating Mosley convincingly. Floyd, Shane and Clottey are all in the same level concerning athleticism and commitment... Pac is one level above even tho he's physically disadvantaged to all those guys.

What happens if Shane beats the living cr*p out of Floyd, will he be #1? :huh
It's not about one fight, you have to be the best for years... so it's even strange that Floyd is #2 instead of SSM. Floyd has fought once since his win against Hatton in 2007, so he has no claim to it yet... SSM maybe.

until the MAN RETIRES OR LOSES which is Pacman, nobody can take the number 1 p4p

floyd is fighting to be the number one welterweight. it makes me even more sure they cancelled floyd vs pac on purpose to make the mayweather and mosley fight (they must have had a heads up mosley fight was gonna be cancelled)

    can you imagine the publicity?

The number one Welterweight vs The number one pound for pound who is also a welter

    There can only be one!

does this mean if floyd did not retire, pac have to beat floyd to get the p4p #1? coz that statement u just posted there tells it so.. so, right now pac is the #1 p4p then using ur logic above, floyd should defeat first pac to be p4p#1.

it has come to a point that pbf needs to beat pac to take over the no. 1 spot...even if he ko mosley, he wont get that spot that pac has....

if mayweather beats mosley then i'd have them both tied at no.2, the winner of their fight will be the no.1

at this point its a real reality that these two can face each other often times P4Pers dont have that chance.....so in this case i have to say to be the man you have to beat the man....or he retires or loses before that fight.

P4P could be viewed in separate ways

If you view P4P as which fighter, could move to different weights at this moment and have the most success then Id give it to Pac. He could probably fight at 140, 147, and make some good matches at 154.

If you view P4P as ONLY based on skills and talent etc.. If you put that fighters skills in another body would he take over that weight class. For example if you took Mayweather's skills and talent and put him in a heavy weight body would that guy be the heavy weight champion.
