If Mayweather beats these 3??

Depends on when he beats them I suppose. 20 - 30 range sounds about right to me, considering he's probably near the bottom of the 40 - 50 range at the moment. Mosley's no spring chicken. If he does it in that order, Mosley would probably be shot by the time Mayweather gets to him.

Beating Marquez doesn't improve him much, if at all, in the all-time standings in my eyes though. Marquez has a lot more to gain than Mayweather.

 

Beating Marquez does nothing for his resume to me. He handpicked a smaller guy who he does everything better than. The only thing Marquez has better than Mayweather is heart, but that will not be enough to overcome the skill and weight difference. Beating the Pac/Cotto winner would be great, but I doubt Floyd would do it. If he beats Pac and then Shane does that help his legacy. Very much. I would rank him top 25, but no better than 20. Pac is still smaller and Shane is still older. Floyd has the chance to fight prime fighters when he was young and he blew it. He is just waiting for weaknesses in fighters to exploit.

 

Top 20..He beats PW as well, id feel comfortable placing him in the top 15....

 

Of all time is always arguable . . . there's no definite answer to that.

If he does it and is still undefeated when he retires, he be ranked top twenty. Guys like SRL, SRR, Hearns, etc, would give him hell.

 

Floyd showed who he is, and what he is about. The mere mention of him fighting a legit threat is absurd at this point. Honestly, I'm betting on a teary eyed retirement speech after Marquez. If he doesn't retire only welters I see him fighting are Berto or Collazo. No way he goes near Mosley or P. Will. He'd go after Pavlik before he has to face those two. Paquiao/Floyd is never happening. Mark my words...

He would definitley be in the top 20 maybe even 15 that would be a tremendous feat to beat all 3.. Only problem he is only willing to fight one "Pac"..

 

Ha, ha, ha, I was thinking the same thing when I came across your post. Lets let him follow through with JMM without anymore delays, then lets wait to see if he hides, errrrr I mean, retires again, then lets see if he fights someone legit, then lets see if he wins. Until he does that whole string of things 3-4 times in a row, which would take him 6-8 years at this pace, it ain't even worth thinking about !!!!

 

Mayweather is already an elite all time great. People need to stop overrating older fighters. Boxing is the only sport where people do this. Is anybody saying Rod Laver was better than Federer or Sampras? Also, it's not fair to compare fighters from the past to now because athletes, training, and nutrition are much better now. If one wants to place certain fighters from the past into the present day's advancements that I aluded to earlier that's a different arguement, but again one that would be very difficult and a woulda coulda thing. Comparing either Klitschko to Louis or Marciano is ridiculous. Those guys were 185-190lbs and 7-10 inches shorter than the Klitschko's. This all time debate needs to end but it never will.

Out of all those guys pac does the most for his legacy because he himself is rated very high up the mythical p4p ATG list. Alot also depends on how he beats the mentioned fighters. Cotto, floyd should outclass and stop. Mosley should be a UD at this stage of his career and manny can either be SD or UD for him to get a top 15-10 p4p spot. To gurantee that spot or climb higher he would have to move up to middleweight and beat the champ.
