If Floyd Mayweather were to cut weight the way most fighters do in this generation, he'd be fighting at 135. When pacquiao was fighting at 135 he was coming in at 147. Evident in the Diaz fight contracted at 135, yet Pacquiao came in the ring 147. Floyd has no business at 160 (ridiculous ) or 154 ( even though his skills makes up for it ) He came in the ring 150 against Canelo There are 135 lb'ers, and PLENTY of 140 lbers that come in the ring at 150. Garcia and Matthysse both came in at 150 in their fight. His work ethic works against him in this generation where fighters are allowed to rehydrate 15+ POUNDS OVER NIGHT since there are no more fight night weigh ins. Why do people expect him to keep going up. Are they dumb, stupid or both?
They just want Floyd to lose. No one can beat him with skills, so he has to go up to a weight class where his opponent is 20 or 30 lbs heavier to make it a competitive match. If he beats anyone under 160 the haters just say something about the other fighter to make an excuse for Floyd winning( too young/old,too slow/weak,inexperienced,first time at X weight class) The plain truth is that no one under 160 can beat Floyd and if you want to see him in a fight where he might lose, going to middle weight is the only way. THEY ARE DUMB,STUPID AND PATHETIC HATERS WHO CARE MORE ABOUT HATING FLOYD THAN LOVING BOXING!!!
floyds a G that actually fight at his natural wieght or above it. I was watching "2 days Mickey Garcia" on HBO and it was crazy how they kill themsleve to pick on smallers guys. i mean if you can make wieght then make it, but you dont see boxers like PBF who wiegh in the same or less even come fight night. Hat goes off to him and if you cant appreciate that your hating.
He's a naturally small framed dude with an abnormally long reach. His reach advantage over just about all of his opponents is alot more important than having a minuscule few pounds of a weight advantage, something which has always been vastly overrated in boxing. But if you look back at alot of his Junior Lightweight fights, he was almost always outweighed on fight night as well. Weighing only 2-3 lbs over the Junior Lightweight limit. If it wasn't for the greater financial rewards that come with fighting @ Welterweight/Junior Welterweight, he could've/would've been the Hagler of that division and stayed there his entire career. Beating the Morales, Barrera's Marquez's, Pacquiao's as they moved up in weight. His resume would've been alot better if he took this route. But his bank account would've had alot less zero's.
This is what happen when you eat to much of Floyd **** . Floyd: Eat my ****. *****s: OK The Catchweight King Fraud Gayweather couldn't even lose 2 damn pounds for his catchweight fight, now he can lose 10-15 pounds . Do yourself a favor and stop eating Floyd **** , its not healthy for you atsch.
I'm a big Provodnikov fan but he needs to put together a couple more quality wins(Rios, Alvarado II, Bradley II) before a Mayweather fight will even be considered. There are simply too many other guys, with similar attributes, who are also more deserving(Garcia, Matthysse, Maidana, Thurman).
He probably wouldn't have had so much trouble making weight for the Marquez fight if he could fight all the way to 135. I don't think it would have made a difference in the Marquez fight but he has clearly grown into the weight. I've said it before but I don't think Floyd is as small as a lot of people seem to think he is. Is he a giant WW? No, clearly not. But he is clearly a full fledged 147 lber.
