I agree.

I love floyd`s ability but my problem with him has always been... one day he will say he is the best ever & the next he`s either talking about retiring in his prime yrs or saying he has nothing to prove.

We all know floyd is a boxing historian & he MUST know that to be placed NEAR never mind ABOVE the likes of Ali & Leonard, he simply must fight ALL or as many of the best fighters who are willing to fight him.

If mayweather doesnt fight cotto etc. there is always gonna be 1 of these ? next to his name when mentioning the atg`s & after yrs of hard graft, it would be a sad finale for a boxer with a genuine chance of being labled with the greats.

Ps. I think mayweather beats cotto by ud.

 

nobody can really say margarito is a bigger threat than cotto,when they fight next year i think cotto stops margarito in 10.i see floyd-cotto next november.

He can't fight everyone cuz he would still be in the ring at 100yo, there's always someone else.

Some people would still find a way to complain even if he beats cotto and williams, then moves up to 160 and wins a belt. Some people will say "What about Mosley and Cintron?" and "he shoulda cleared 160, beating a beltholdr means nothing even if it's in his 6th division."

Mayweather should keep being smart, and taking the best fight for the most money.
Fighting everyone only got Ali damaged, and people still get on forums and talk down on him.

Hearns 2x (1-0-1 though it should be 1-1)
Hagler (1-0)
Benitez (1-0)

His legacy is fine....Besides Nobody really gives a **** about the fighter when they are too old to lace up and too incoherent to be relevant anywhere....The culture of picking and choosing your opponents is basically the fighters being self aware as to how much money there is to be made in this thing.

If Mayweather fights and beats Cotto It be increasingly difficult to criticize him.
