So you want Pac to jump 3 divisions up? how many divisions do you jump from 147-154? Pac being a merely 130lb fighter at this time having 1 fight at 135. Pac like PBF gave way to DLH's demands.

english PPV. he got screwed off them by ricky hatton and wants it probably. also he is a reebok endorser which could have an influence on him. plus the fact that his public workout in england in the jmm fight was a huge success.

He apparently got a glowing reception when he came over here just before the Marquez fight. He spoke about it on Sky News, if I remember right -- he was shocked at how the fans flocked to see him train. In the latest interview (that infamous one where he speaks about Pac always asking his promoter) he also implied how astonishing he found the loyalty in the UK to be, where fans would cheer for their fighter even after he loses. I'm assuming he was talking about Hatton here, because after the Hatton fight he went up to him in the ring and pointed out how the fans were still chanting that silly Hatton song, despite their man getting KO'd. Floyd seemed genuinely surprised and even puzzled at this, and I think it left quite a big mark on him. What he doesn't realise is that Hatton's fanbase doesn't extend to every top level UK fighter -- Khan, Calzaghe or Haye certainly don't/didn't have anywhere near that level of support. Hatton was a bit of a special case.

Great post, and I think it did make an impact on Floyd as well. For awhile now, Floyd's struck me as being jaded/bitter about the sport he's so good at, so I believe he was genuinely surprised to find that he was wrong about Hattons' fans turning their backs on him out like last night's trash once he was KO'd.

I really don't believe this will happen. I mean there's no way... Floyd's fought some lower level guys at times, but at this point of his career, a tune up with Matthew? No way, he won't do that.

Have you ever thought that Money might milk as much as he can fighting people who don't cause risk.

The biggest myth in ESB that the Floydette perpetrated is that Floyd came out of retirement to fight Pac.

There is nothing farther from the truth than that. Floyd did not unretire because of Pac but because of IRS. His financial woes made him come back to boxing. Even after the Hoya fight where he apparently got his biggest payday, he was still having some financial trouble.

If Floyd was really after legacy, why did he retire when his legacy was still not solidly grounded? He sure was a hell of a fighter at 130 but south of that, his resume is so-so.
