Hard to walk away when your last check was 60-80 million.

i think it has more to do with an inability to cope with loss and aging than discipline. a guy like floyd has been basically dominant throughout his 43 fight career. its hard when youre that good to look yourself in the mirror and admit you dont have it anymore. the process has already begun with floyd. he looked very human versus cotto. after trout beat cotto, floyd said "that wasnt the same cotto". he cant accept the fact that he too declines with aging. i hope he retires undefeated but i also foresee him taking one too many fights.

I will never ever complain about a boxer retiring. Fans who do are POS.

That said, the fan in me would wish that he went out on a better note than Robert Guerrero.

Do you think Cotto was the same vs Mayweather as he was vs Trout? I don't....

In any case if Floyd fights at 147lbs again he puts in a usual untouchable performance.....he beats guys like Bradley, Guerrero & Alexander on his worse day even at 36 years old!

I really don't think Guerrero could win even on floyds worst night, let alone knock him out. That being said theres is the chance that floyd gets hit more than usual and if thats the case I hope he doesn't blame it on the jail sentence and continue on fighting.

i think that's why it's Guererro he wants to see if after the Cotto performance where he clearly showed he's a bit past it and after the jail sentence and big layoff that he still has it. If he doesn't easily whup Guererro that should be enough to tell him that it's time to hang them up.....if he doesn't whup Guererro a fight vs Canelo is stupid and a guaranteed L. Haters will wanna see him keep fighting though of course and even if Floyd lost vs a young prime champ while he was in his 40's they'd use it as ammo to discredit his whole career, sad bunch they are.

I think he's damn near unbeatable at 147, but I don't know how much longer that will continue. Not because anyone's a threat to him but time is... gaining on him.

The Cotto that fought Floyd was literally the same exact Cotto that fought Trout. I can't comment on Cotto's motivation or performance in comparison, but I don't think the difference in Cotto is solely responsible. I think Floyd will have competitive fights no matter who he fights at this point now. His legs are shot and he just has less tools to work with.

Well then let us not give Hagler any credit for Duran, Hearns, or Mugabi. He was supposed to beat them. [shrugs] Horrible negative way to never ever give anyone credit for a victory of any kind unless they are the betting underdog. Or not even the betting line, just the underdog in your opinion.

You're so ****ing negative all the time, every post. Cheer the **** up. Pretend it was before KTFO6 and you'll be good...

I think Void will have a lot of trouble with Guerrero. Martinez would knock Void out, but Void knows it....................

pac fought all that matters whether he was supposed to win or lose.

in his career, floyd only held serve.

  14. I would say he was quitting to avoid the fight with Canelo. I will be sorely disappointed if he takes the fight with guererro, but thats what I've come to expect from Mayweather.

  15. Funny that they have alot of the same opponents. And floyd fought most of them first. Oh yea, Floyd still hasnt lost yet, has he?
