...then Cotto should get no props if he beats Pacquiao.

Mayweather thoroughly waxed JMM, a very good fighter, and the number 2 p4p, but Floyd will not likely still not get enough credit for it, because people will say he beat up a smaller fighter.

If you think that, that's fine...it's your opinion, but you can't hate on Floyd for beating up a smaller guy without hating on Cotto if he happens to beat Pacquiao. Aside from height - slightly - the Mayweather-Marquez size difference is the same as the Cotto-Pacquiao size difference.

Personally, I think Mayweather still deserves credit for this win, because Marquez wasn't that much smaller, and because of how good of a fighter JMM is...Floyd didn't even use his size advantage to win this fight. He used ring generalship and speed. Had Floyd bullied JMM and knocked him out, then you could say it was because of size, but the way Floyd won makes the size difference a moot point.

Bottom line is, anybody who knows anything about boxing could not brush off this win by Floyd without doing the same to Cotto in November....if he wins.

JMM was tailor made for floyd. He was handpicked. This was a complete mismatch and floyd knew it coming in. He shouldn't get much credit for this victory.

Marquez is washed up?, since when? :huh

A washed up fighter wouldn't have beaten Diaz and Casamayor both by KO and gave Pac(#1 P4P) HELL one fight before and was P4P#2 going in this fight.

A washed up fighter would have been KO'd right there in the 2nd round after that knockdown moving up two weight divisions like he did.

Knowing how terrible your posts are regarding the sport I'll ask you a direct question and would seriously appreciate a proper answer.

How is Marquez tailor made for Mayweather?, and I ask that based on STYLES because people don't say that in boxing unless they're talking about their styles.

Depends if Cotto actually tries to make the catch weight as opposed to playing it safe and paying your way out of something done to even out the playing field even just a little bit.

He's a counterpuncher you fool. Did you even watch the fight. He stood right in front of Floyd flat footed the entire night. I was calling this fight a mismatch since it was announced.

Floyd had every advantage in the book - age, speed, reach, power. Marquez was a handpicked opponent, don't even try to sugarcoat it.

floyd get's credit but we have to look into context that jmm is fighting way above his best weight class. still an impressive preformance putting a shut-out. cotto should get his well deserved props if he beats pac.

JMM and Pac are equal fighters, floyd is better then Both. Pac would get dominated even moreso then JMM because Pac has no defence, and he wont be landing no sunday shots on floyd the way he did on Hatton. Or fighting a zombie like he did vs Oscar. were are all the excuses for Pac fighting those fights??? Now JMM is shot, I said it would be said once Floyd beat him, and true to form haters will hate.

Are you kidding me? He's a smaller, slower less defensively skilled COUNTER PUNCHER!?! You need an offensive assault to beat Floyd. There were clear advantages. Just like how Pac was more made for Hatton than Floyd was for Hatton. And yes, Hatton wasn't at his very best against Pac but he was surely better than he was when JMM fought Pac in comparison to the JMM against Floyd.
