If Mayweather had a more crowd pleasing style, would he be adored as much as pac?

Ok its semantics, so we'll go with not as endearing as Pac. Floyds popularity is mainly attributed to his antagonistic antics. Yes he is popular but even then he is not as popular as Pac worldwide.

Come on now. You can literally name on one hand the "better received" modern Black boxers per continent that actually make it big with the "nice guy" routine. (SRL, Lewis, Mosley). That isn't what the Boxing public wants. There are a few good ones in the pipe though.

The Boxing public wants Black guys to be villains. For various reasons in each boxing constituency, but at the end of the day it is the same. Being the "humble likeable" Black guy is the quickest way to NOT become a draw.

    You have a point, man.
Americans still take some warming up to black athletes.

    STFU with the "black" crap.

Now to the thread question. If Floyd had a more pleasing style, that would mean that he would be taking more chances in the ring, which probably means he would not be undefeated which means we would not be having this conversation.

People like you are always trying to read "better/worse person" into simple human psychology. Humans like opposing forces. They like even better when flawed "good" is the underdog to extremely capable "evil". Classic human narrative.

He is more popular than Pac and it shows in every quantifiable category. You just like to fall back on your BS emotions as though they are some scientifically measurable quantity. News flash. They aren't. Mayweather is more popular. Fame + Infamy > Fame.

Shut you clown. Acting like racial dynamics don't exist don't make the world right.

You seem pretty dumb about boxing in general because not moving your hands in boxing is "taking a chance". There is s specific reason why everyone's punch output plummets and the fight becomes "boring". It has everything to do with Mayweather being EFFECTIVE and little to do with his not taking chances.

Go stick your head back in the sand bird brain.

I think it is more of "clannishness" of people coupled with economics. Blacks just don't have the economic heft for a fighter to cross a certain revenue point.

To cross that point you need to either be universally likeable (handsome, well spoken, relatable, DECENTLY physically talented, etc...) or universally hated/fascinating (cocky, EXTREMELY physically talented, crazy as hell).

Black guys just usually find it easier to pull off the second one unless they have a "machine" behind them like the NFL and NBA put behind them. So you see Black boxers slowly "turn".

I wouldnt say human beings "like" these traits in a person but they do pique their curiosity. But Floyd being the flawed good character is irrelevant because his character is secondary to his in ring performances, who frankly if aesthetically sublime certainly is not violently predisposed "crowd/human" pleasing.

Also, how can you quantify popularity when your pool is limited to such things as PPV??

Get off Floyd's crotch and stop bitching about "the poor black man" then we'll talk boxing.

This was a dumb ****ing thought which means that you don't know boxing since fighters always take chances in the ring, and probably means that you're a ****ing dumb!!!
