If Floyd started his pro career at 106, beat ATG's and was 5'6 and a half faced with numerous towering opposition. Would Floyd be greater? Or is he greater being as he is?
This makes no sense, you are basically saying if floyd was pac would be be greater? no he would be pac.
How could Mayweather be less than a fighter who spent his career fighting his leftovers. Oh, not to forget, a guy, whom he thorougly dealt with.
I am putting it in such a way to promote less biased responses. Fanboys will imagine a shorter Mayweather beating Barrera, Morales, getting FOTD etc. or a taller Pacquiao moving up to 140 because 135 was weakening him and beating Castillo, Corrales etc. The thing is, do you imagine an exciting shorter, blacker, orthodox Pacquiao, and a boring paler, asian, beiber cut having Mayweather? All very interesting. Point being, when they can put their fighter into someone elses shoes, they can more closely peer into the truth.
Like 3 leftovers, Floyd fought Pacquiao's left over anyway when he fought Cotto, that's not scuffed at is it? Not sure it means anything, considering he beat Morales, Marquez and Barrera. Bradleyx3 and Clottey are obviously considerably better victories than Ortiz and Maidanax2 too. A head to head victory isn't everything, Duran is still greater than Hagler.
Pac fought a washed up Cotto that was coming off a beating from the loaded brick hand of Antonio Margarito. Not only that he drained the guy at his ridiculous catchweight.
If Pacquiao fought a washed up Cotto Floyd fought a what Cotto? Can you unwash something? Cotto was coming off two victories before Pacquiao, if he had padded his record with three Jennings before facing a practically retired opponent before Pacquiao, would he have been better prepared? Pacquiao was hit by circumstances that end most careers after Marquez IV but still came back to world class opposition before taking on p4p Bradley. Padding is nonsense, and obviously Cotto wasn't drained, he was physically perfectly fine, stamina the same as always and chin too solid to be drained. Or is Floyd allowed to wobble Cotto with a weak uppercut but Pacquiao can't set him down with a shot as perfectly placed as a shot can be?
You're an insignificant non entity. The only opinion that matters are those of the experts. Like this one from Pac's own trainer. MANILA, Philippines – Even Freddie Roach is sold: Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the best boxer of his generation. Roach, Manny Pacquiao’s longtime trainer, recently admitted that the undefeated Mayweather tops his ward as the best boxer of this era. “Manny had eight world titles and a lot of great opponents and so forth. Mayweather had the same, had a great career and undefeated, so I guess we're going to have to give it to Mayweather,” the multi-titled cornerman said in a *******.com report by Carlos Boogs. Mayweather actually won titles in five weight divisions, three fewer than Pacquiao, who was champion in an unprecedented eight weight classes. Close ad X But Mayweather proved he is the top dog by besting Pacquiao in their showdown last May, which turned out to be the richest fight in boxing. Roach himself trained two boxers in an attempt to hand Mayweather his first loss ever. He worked Oscar De La Hoya’s corner when he fought Mayweather in 2007 and did the same for Pacquiao. In both times, Roach failed. Mayweather retired after beating Andre Berto in September, his perfect 49-0 record intact. This, Roach said, is why Mayweather’s the best. “Mayweather had no losses and so forth, so he's probably king of this era,” he added. Still, Roach gave Pacquiao his due. “But Manny was a lot more exciting for the fans,” Roach said.
What if sam eggingtons name was wladimir klitschko and he was the same height and weight, looked the same and fought and beat everybody wladimir klitschko beat in the and the wladimir klitschko we know today never existed? Would he still be wladimir klitschko? or would the universe spontaneously combust
