If Mayweather is Truly Retired Why Hasn't He Relinquished His Belts?

Don't you find it kind of odd that it's been more than a month since his "last" fight against Berto and he hasn't relinquished even one of his 4 belts? Why does a "retired" boxer need to hold 4 belts? Shouldn't his belts all been declared vacant by now? Hmmmm

Because the WBC does not make Roid Mayweather go by the rules. Roid should fight Golovkin at 154 on PPV.....................

his retirement is a publicity stunt imo

it makes it easier for him to control who he fights before he really retires :bbb

They found the two misplaced IV bags so he might go for 1 more fight.

The guy has been retired for a month, people like you all wanted him to go away, yet you're still making troll threads about him..... Makes sense.

How is this a "troll thread"? I am asking a very good question that nobody else I know has been asking that strongly suggests that he isn't truly retired.

That would be almost as easy a win as the Berto fight. The Berto fight proved that regardless of the marketing ploy, he now needs a strong dance partner in order to do more than 500M buys on PPV. That would involve facing someone who is a serious risk to his 0 which he protects like a mother defends her young. Whether he comes back or not will determine what is greater between his degree of craving for money and the limelight or his desire to remain undefeated and fear of losing. He appears to either be on the fence or leaning towards fighting on because he hasn't relinquished even one single belt.

He is doing a favor for Danny Garcia by holding hostage the WBC 147 belt. This way Danny wont have to fight Khan. I reckon Floyd will hold all the belts hostage until the sanctioning bodies strip him of the belts.

He has said the Berto fight was his last and he is retired but has he officially announced that he is retired. I can't remember any official announcement. This could be the reason these titles have not been declared vacant. After the Pacquio fight he said he would give up his titles to allow younger fighters an opportunity. What ever happened to that. This guy is by far the most astute business man the sport has ever known but like all good business men there is a lot of dodgy stuff in there. His entire career has been a charade to maximise profits. There is nothing wrong that because the 1st duty of any professional is to make as much as he can with the ability he has. To those who know boxing he will always be remembered as a roided cherry picking runner with very little offense and not to be mentioned in the same vain as the true greats of the sport.
