....would he be considered P4P #1?

Vice versa, if Marquez beats Floyd on points, would he be considered P4P#1?

Personally, I would only consider Floyd to be P4P #1 if he KO's Marquez under 5 rounds. Lets face it, he has probably every advantage on Marquez except heart. However, if Marquez convincingly beats Floyd, he has to be considered #1.

    What do you guys think?

No. Just because the referee and judges are on Void's side does not make it a win in the fans eyes.

No and If JMM beats Floyd, Floyd jr would be the least popular of the Mayweathers. He is gone, legacy kaput

hmm says... Boxing scene already has PBF at #3. I don't know how far the Ring has ranked him as of now.. but if he beats JMM in less than entertaining fashion, I would assume he would take his spot at #2............... vice-versa with JMM possibly getting #1.. It's true that P4P also depends on how you win, but I'm thinking via KO under 5 he won't get the #1 title... besides... it's what he's gunning for in the first place.. As for promoters and analysts, I don't think they'ld easily give him the #1 spot... He just came out of retirement to get that #1 title and no doubt the man needs to work and earn it.. If he automatically gets #1 in a tuneup against a smaller man, then that defeats the purpose of a potential megafight with Pac and he can just retire #1 again after JMM which probably is not the scenario hehe.

hmm says... now that I'm thinking about it more... if he hypothetically becomes #1 off a convincing win off a smaller man Marquez........................ the Pac and PBF may still happen....... but............ PBF will then be calling the shots and asking for the "lions share" of the cut. It'll be a ****ed up scenario but still will make it plausible for the Pac PBF megafight. Shiet this is complicated.

For me, there are only 2 ways he can get back the #1 P4P rank

    1. He beats Pac convincingly and then win against a big name who isn't smaller than him

    2. He actually cleans up the WW division (starting with Cotto and Shane)

I just have this feeling that PBF is just a big bundle of unrealized potential

If PBF cant KO Marquez, he should go back into retirement.

a win over jmm would be a much better win than the one over hatton. plus jmm is #2, when many think he should actually be #1, but then a few also think with floyd's return he was #1 all along and he still is. i hope the ass whipping begins soon to clear this cluster****, there can't be three #1's! There can be only one!

What has Floyd have in terms of legacy if he loses to a man who has no advantage and is significantly smaller.

Real boxing fans knows the deal here, they know what Floyd is up to.

JMM is the biggest Red Herring for Floyd in boxing, its smoke and mirrors.

The guy had the gall to ask for a catchweight lol against a guy whos fought at 135 twice!!, can you believe that?

Hmm, there is no way anyone can seriously rate PBF as # 1 if he IN ANY WAY struggles with JMM, as great as JMM is. I would go further and say that if JMM were to lose a close decision, he should still be recognized as #2.

I agree with Ringnut, if PBF was to beat Shane and Cotto convincingly, that would put him at #1. If he were to lose a close decision to Paul Williams at 160, that would put PBF in the stratosphere, IMO.

hmm says... indeed no way in hell he'll get #1 if he struggles... it's interesting you think a JMM KO under 5 will merit a number 1 spot.. Do you still think that way? I don't think he'll get #1 even if he beats JMM convincingly.

I think highly enough of Marquez that he would be capable of going the full distance with PBF. PBF is a safety first fighter; he will not go for the KO unless it was there on a silver platter. And I think JMM is good enough that PBF would rather win a comfortable decision than risk a KO.

Lets put it this way; he threw tons of punches against Gatti to force Buddy to stop it at 5(6?). I really don't see him doing the same against JMM.
