If Mayweather/Pacquiao actually lived up to the hype, what effect would their legacies had?

    We can all agree that Mayweather/Pacquiao was an awful fight and one of the biggest disappointments in boxing history. However, it makes me think: if the fight actually lived up to the hype and both fighters put on an awesome showing, would it have changed both fighters' legacies?

    Yeah they woukd be glorified if it was gatti vs ward 1.

    Thats why it sucked that Floyd was in it. He is a great boxer but casuals pay to watch him lose since he is annoying with a big mouth.
    So besides boxing fans you dont want a guy like that in a huge fight to benefit boxing as a whole.

    Pac vs JMM way better as a huge fight for example.

    Same with Fury vs Usyk for Example or Bhop vs anyone.
    A spoiler in a huge fights turns off the casuals and it doesnt live up to its hype.

    Most people at my wirk for example watched 3 big fights over the years. Floyd vs Pac and Mccgregor and Conor vs Khabib in the ufc.

    Last one was the only one that lived up to its hype.
    With may pac everyone considered it boring as hell.

    I brought friends to Fury vs Wlad live. They havent watched boxing since...

    We need some Hagler vs Hearns, morales vs Barrera or Gatti vs Ward type fights to benefit boxing.
