"Possibly the greatest boxer of the era, though he never proved it." So why has Mayweather come out of retirement? Is he just going to continue beating B class fighters? I'm not a *******, I'm just incredibly frustrated to see such a 'potentially' massive talent go to waste. Even these "Floyd Nuthuggers" should be able to see this. It's all well and true saying he can beat X and Y, but until he pits himself against the best, surely he's only slightly better than his biggest win, which I'd say, given the context, is Corrales... What I'd like here is for a few self-proclaimed Floyd Nuthugger to give their opinion on what they'd think of Floyd if he retired without fighting at least 1 welterweight p4p talent. Everyone elses opinion is also welcome and appreciated. Please don't turn thread into a pac/floyd fan bash.
That is probably how most fans would feel, and it is a terrible indictment on Mayweather the man that most boxing fans would not care if this hugely talented fighter retired!!!
Really good H2H @ 130. Generally decent H2H everywhere else. Not a particularly special champion. Mediocre ATG.
For all the talent that he has, he's going to be remembered for the fights he didn't make, not the fights he won. Who cares if your undefeated if people are always going to bring up the ones you should have fought instead. Floyd was a badass from 135 and under, Badass I tell. But since, forget about it. He talks about being an ATG, he's got the skills, but that doesn't mean anything if you don't have the balls to prove it.
Im not a big Pacquio fan but if both men retired 2day i truly believe that PacMan would be inducted into the IBHOF before Mayweather does dispite the allegations that Pac is on PED's
lmfao..how can u rate floyd as an atg at lw? He only had 4 fights at the weight...at 130 however he is easily top 3
You're right, I meant jr lightweight. I judge him based on his Castillo 2nd win which was lightweight.
